Playing Basketball in Europe

I hear and I see a lot of players from the US and other countries who decided to go play in a europen league and then make it into the NBA from there, now I have a couple questions about this..Is this actually a good way to try make it in the NBA one day? if you feel you could get more reconized this way or you need to improve and prove yourself a little more and show people that you can play, would this help your chances if you thought mabye college didn't work for me right now or after college (if you arn't drafted), like say I still wan't to play basketball as a career, I think il go play in europe and mabye some scouts will jump on me because they arn't at the moment.. or somthing along the lines of that.How much money do players make if they were to play in say.. the Euro League.I don't know, give me some info on it because you see players like Reja Bell, Bruce Bowen, Anothny Parker, etc who all made it to the NBA by playing in Europe.If this is a good way of proving you can play or sumshit then I think il keep the playing basketball in europe in the back of my head for later.What do you think of this whole idea, situation thingy.

Im not saying im planning to do it, this is mostly a example.someone who is really dedicated and determined to make it, would do this probley, question is that is it worth the try?

NopeEurope is for people like you mentioned. Or people like Charlie Bell from MSU back in the day. Solid college players that maybe are one dimensional and need to develop other skills. I dont think being determined would make it to the NBA. I think it would be worth a shot if you didnt mind the money (IDK how much it is) but with the increasing talent coming from overseas I dont see someone who is unknown making it just because he worked really hard. I mean it can happen but thats living a fairytale. You would have to be top notch Euro Player and go through many workouts in the states to come to the NBA.And that is my serious answer

If basketball is what you love then yes, follow your dreams and play basketball in Europe, NBA scouts go there all the timeIf you really want to make it into the NBA then I'd recommend coming to America and play in the D-league. Why? It's run by the NBA, has affliciates to NBA teams, and there are a lot of teams, so the chances of you making a roster (if you're any good) are pretty high. Plus D-league teams run NBA offenses and defenses, it's pretty much like a lower level of the NBA. The D-League would be the best place to play if you want to make the NBA

If you are looking for a good contract and some kind of longevity with a team, go to Europe. You have a better chance of making good money and being a star over there. If you are really just looking to be recognized by NBA scouts, look towards the NBDL. The money's not there but teams frequently call players up for 10-day contracts etc. It is probably easier to go into the NBDL and get recognized than to play a couple of years in Europe. Europe definitely has its rewards if you do extremely well, though.

yep, if you're truly confident that you're NBA level then the NBDL is the better idea. But if you want to play basketball as a career europe is probably a better idea

you have to be a TOP notch college player if you want to make it on a euro team. maybe one that isnt cut out for the NBA but dominated in the highest levels of college basketball. euro players are not just some scrubs that cant play and joe schmo can just go over there and automatically be on the team
