You had every right to be critical. He went for a very long time throwing up lazy flip shots at the basket and rounding passes that got picked off. Only 2-3 weeks ago half this board had him as trade bait. What game was it he missed a bunch of consecutive shots?
I can promise you i have been very critical of Nurkic. Do i like Nurkic yes. Do i think they need to keep him yes. But this team badly needs a big man coach and Nurkic would do well to hire one in the off season.
I think the idea that all these guys should just go hire their own staff and trainers and coaches is "ok", but also can be dangerous if it's not in sync with what his actual coaches want from him. If that makes sense. I think the onus should be on the team to find big man coaches. That's my opinion anyways.

Really? I'm not critical? Again... you can criticize my takes or disagree all you want but you don't have to make shit up. I've been critical of this team for literally the entire time I've been writing/podcasting/hosting, etc. I've railed against personnel decisions, lineups, coaching, sets, salary management, you name it. People ask me to be MORE positive because I'm critical of a lot. I'm not dodging anything and I never will. Quit putting up these straw-men to make yourself look like more.
From what I've seen I haven't seen you be anywhere near as critical on your show as you were before it became a post-game show, or on Rip City Radio. Its noticeable to me, and maybe I missed all the shows where you were, but I think I've seen enough to say that it seems like your holding back compared to stuff you said in the past. I havent seen you heavily challenge Olshey or Stotts... but I dont blame you. Not saying it's why Isaac Ropp got fired, or Talkin Ball got taken off the air, but its reportedly a pattern, and you know what Im talking about.

Interpreting something that way, whether you agree or disagree, isnt making anything up. That's my interpretation.

Shouldnt you, with your role, be above cussing at someone on a message board over this? As well as personally attacking them saying they're trying to "make stuff up about me to bring themselves up", because they interpret what you say a certain way? Yikes. Also, dont you think it's weird to stalk a forum for any mention of you, and only post on that forum to go at people?

If I've been critical of Nurkic it's b/c I expect more from him- not that I don't like him or that I don't think he's good. I've wrote about it substantially over the last year and I've consistently said that I think Nurkic should be the 2nd most important guy on this team.
Yet, last year you said you didnt think the Blazers should let him walk if he got an offer sheet of more than $12M a year. That's a quote I remember distinctively.

This dude got a job at BlazersEdge, a TV show, the Blazers Pre-Game & Post-Game Show and has tried to put people straight on numerous occassions...

...all in 243 posts.

That's what I call efficient!! I wonder what his TS% is?

TS% ????

Would that be "Talkin Shit Percentage"

I was good and used the green font.

I can understand that but the off season is when you make big gains in your game. If the Blazers do not have a Big man coach on staff this summer Nurkic needs to take matters into his own hands. The guy has all the talent and size to be one of the top 3 or 4 centers in the league. But it's gonna take work. Personally i think he can and will work hard to be better. Look at how hard he worked to get his weight down and look at how durable he has been since?

I think he’ll work hard and you can tell he has worked hard with Dame to be in sync.

Nurk obviously is putting in work over the summer. Whether it's the huge weight loss two summers ago or improving his free throws like this past summer.

Totally get it and that's more in line with what 99% of people tell me- that I'm too critical for their liking. I understand that and I appreciate the feedback, truly. I'm never going to make everyone happy with what I say and that comes with the job- all that I ask is that it's framed fairly and correctly. Saying that I'm not critical, or unwilling to discuss certain things is so far off base... I don't even know what to say.

Thanks again for your thoughts- I'll try to keep that in mind.
Good to see you posting here Dan....for any poster here to criticize someone for being critical is well.....hilarious...I enjoy your work..good to see you working in the field...there's not enough Blazer content for me as it is and more is always welcome

He did indeed. I would like to see some other things worked on as well. First and foremost would be keeping the ball up.

Man i get in so much trouble doing that. Seriously i can say some shit at the worst time. I wish things came out my mouth in "Green Font".

drink 2 quarts of Raineer Ale fast, on an empty stomach....you'll have lots of green font coming out of your mouth shortly afterwards

When I said “always” I think that was the incorrect word to use. I shouldnt have used that word. I think most of the time frustrations come from believing a guy isnt meeting our expectations.
I dont neccesarily disagree with anything you’ve said.
To me Nurk isnt the best player or close thats Dame, but Nurk IS the 2nd most important player on the team he’s expected to do a lot on both ends of the court. Really Dame is mostly expected to just play great offense and be the leader of the team. They go nowhere if Nurkic isnt great on defense and “good” on offense.

In terms of the criticism of Nurkic, There was an episode of your post game show in November sometime around their road trip where they lost to the lakers that I felt if that was all someone saw of you they’d conclude you didnt like Nurk, just my two cents.

All good man- no worries. I believe in Nurkic and I hope Portland is buoyed by the recent success with him as the secondary playmaker. I agree that he's the 2nd most important player for them with Dame as a clear number one. I've also never really believed in the Dame/CJ backcourt- I think they're great individual players, but I think the ceiling is right there. That's nothing new though or anything no one has said before. I've just been camped on that corner a little longer than others lol.

As for that particular game- if I remember roughly what it was - the criticism was directed at Nurkic's struggles with McGee and other ridiculously long centers like him. I'll see if I can go back and watch a bit to find what you're talking about though. I appreciate the feedback and the clarification man. One thing I've learned is how to qualify things when talking about stuff like this. I'm not innocent of it by any means- but I get a lot of talk about the Blazers all day every day. So when I see someone say I've always been critical of Nurkic when the contrary is very much true, it's a little like "wait, what?" But hey, it's all good man and thanks again.

Appreciate it man! Don't worry, it's all good.

The Warriors miss JaVale McGee more than they probably thought they would....rumor has them signing Robin Lopez soon to shore up the paint

Yah, I told my son before the season even started that Dubs were better of with McGee. Basketball is a team & chemistry sport. He fits way better than Boogey.

To be fair, we don't yet know how Cousins will fit on GS.

Right. I'm sticking my neck out and predicting they will wish they kept McGee. Might be hard to measure though as Draymond has regressed so much.
