damn...what a pity game, almost win, but lose.

our free throw percentage is so bad, this is why we lose today......(crying)

Honestly, Kidd has not shot free throws that well this season compared to what he normally does at the strip in past seasons. Anyway, I think the problem was more with to many defensive laps, we tried to play and up & down scoring style with Orlando, which is not the way we can beat a team like that with more weapons then we have offfensively. We have been winng games recently with Kidd & Vince putting in the major offensive ;oad and then everyone else focusing on scrapping it up on Defense. But in the games where we lose that attention to defense completely ie Memphis, Minny, and tonight, we pretty much get our behinds handed to us cause we cant out score those type of teams. Playing a game in the 100+ area with Orlando is going to be a deadly calling card for us....I know we hung with them for 4 quarters playing their style but you could yeall it was going to evetually catchup to us.

Difficult lost to swallow but def. not done, by any stretch.
 
you could look at that game 2 ways. 1st is taht if we won we would of been in the 8th spot but we lost and now were in the 10th and we have to hope that phily and orlando lose a few games too help us out.... now the other way u can see it is did u see krtic's stats 28 points and 11 board i mean this is a player no one saw coming that game proved to me and krtic can actually stepped it up and he is going to be one day a good center

I dont think that beating cleveland at this point in time could be that hard, they are playing poor basketball and the Nets have been able to defend 'Bron very well the past two years. they seem to have a lot of success against him. Kidd really should of hit that shot......

Remeber, the Nets grew up after the last loss to Orlando. Even though this one wasn't as bad, I think they all know they have many more improvements to make, and to focus harder.

Cleveland just beat Dallas my 20+ points.....I think that the Cavs are getting momentum, and are going to be tough to beat esspecially in Cleveland.

On anther note, Philly beat the Celts.
 
Beating Cleveland in my opinion will come down to 2 things. One being how hard our perimeter guys make Lebron James work for his points. Lebron is one of the very few players in the league superstars that is that you would rather turn into a scorer then a playmaker cause making other guys better is the best aspect of his game. So if you make him work hard for his points and he has to take a scorers mentality to get his season averages in points then he cant look to get the other guys like McInnis, Gooden etc involved. And those guys need Lebron to make them better.

The 2nd thing that will determine the outcome is how well our frontline can play against Cleveland's bigs. In the past Big Z has seem to always get the best of Collins down in the low block. And Gooden's athletism is the type of player that can give Nenad some problems. But in the last matchup our frontline played surprisingly well against Cleveland's bigs. And that is what imo led to our victory. So guys like JC, Nenad, and Cliffy need to have solid games on both ends of the court. Cleveland has had there struggles since the all-star break but if we let their frontline guys Gooden and Z have monster type games then we cant win.
 
I love the starting lineup today

G:Kidd
G:Carter
F:Scalabrine
F:Collins
C:Krstic

this lineup's height is taller..and Scalabrine can donate more offense than vaughn and defense in the painted than VC.

and JK & VC can assist each so much...this is why we can lead Cavs so much now..
i love it.. this is a good lineup until RJ is back...

and in my opinion, this lineup vs Sixers has more advantage...so the key game vs Sixers in our home ... we must take it !!
 
Talking about redeeming themselves, the Nets woooped the Cavs by 31 points, on an away game.

I finally saw six players in double figures

Next up is the Knicks. I hope the Nets will repeat what they did tonight again on Thursday

The Nets did what I hope they would... bounce back from another Orlando loss. And bounce back they did. Lebron couldn't single handedly bring his team victory, and Carter showed him what a premiere 2 and 3 can do. But imagine how much more amazing Lebron could be with a playmaker like Kidd next to him, as Carter now knows.
 
Pretty easy victory, Cavs didnt play any defense after the 1st quarter. We had open looks from the perimeter all night off their poor rotations. But Jason Collins hitting the 3 was the funniest thing of the night cause he jogged back down court after he released the shot like he knew it was cash all the way, meanwhile the shot killed the backboard before it went in....he gave Vince the look like great pass & even had the follow thru on the shot. He was really loving that one...And then he tried to pull from 3 again in the 4th.

Anyway after that type of performance we cant fold against the Knicks cuase you know they will be looking to spoil our chances at the post season.
 
we can also chase Cavs into 8th spot , because cavs' Zydugaskas is injured, so they may lose most game in the future, so we must have a win streak until the season games is off.

8th spot means havin to face Miami on the first round...That's worse than not makin the playoffs,imo...

Cavs, like Orlando was/is, are dropping, and dropping fast. Philly and Cleveland are two teams that are passable, so it's not out of the question that the Nets get the 7th spot. And face Detroit, a series I enjoy watching.
 
Scalabrine is still on the starting lineup...and he performed well.
He is the best man on that. He is tall and can three & rebound.

Scary win for the Nets. I was happy to see some life the Knicks had. They were making one of their staple runs. Honestly, I didn't want them to win. The Knicks need a high lottery pick and even if we beat the Nets, it would just kill us more than we think. The Nets need to continue this if they want to be in the playoffs. They have one of the most important games at 1:00 on Saturday. Add that to the fact they're amongst the leaders in total games played = Step it up NJ!

I don't know, they need to depend on other teams to lose which isn't a good sign. At least they won today. They have some tough games next. They have 5 games next. Indiana, Washington, Philadelphia and Boston are the 4. Toronto sucks and I don't think they'll be a problem for the Nets.

The 76ers schedule looks like this: Washington (playing right now), Boston, Miami, Indiana, Nets, Bucks and Hawks. It has its ups and downs, but the key is NJ wining its games.

The Cavs have Bucks (looks like they're going to win this one tonight) Magic, Knicks, Wizards, Pistons, Celtics and Raptors.

The Nets have to take advantage of their opportunities if they want to make it. It's all up to them and them only. We'll see what happens but the way it looks now, they'll be sitting home.

I am justing going to sit here and hope that the Nets win all five of thier remaining games and that Philly/Cleveland lose at least two.

Actually they are behind 2 in the loss column on cleveland and I think that CLE holds the tiebreaker so they might need them to lose 3

no the nets have the tie braker im pretty sure they just beat the hell out of them on tuesday i think and they won another one when jefferson won they game with that ally opp

Yea youre right, my bad. The Nets took 2 of 3 from the Cavs this year.
 
Scoreboard Watching

Well with the Nets off tonight was all about scoreboard watching. And the Nets got an ecellent gift from Atlantic Divion foe Boston Celtics as they knocked of the Sixers 105-98. Nets are now within a game of the 8th spot. Tommorrow's game vs the Pacers will be major as the Nets now have the chance to move within a 1/2 game with the victory.
 
I used to know Reggie Miller as the Knick killer, but now I am confused. The Nets lost following a clutch out burst by Miller. They now <u>need</u> philly to lose against Miami...

Edit: it looked to me like Carter was hurting at the end of the game following the Foster hit. I just hope that it is nothing major.
 
i hope the nets go to the playoffs... so nets fans from a rockets fan i give ya'll luck.... kick some ass hopefully in the post season.. ahhhhhhhhh yup!(yin yang twins)
 
Oh boy, Philly just beat Miami...I think that I can safely say that the Nets are not going to be in the playoffs this year.

Philly clearly showed a will to win, will show this same will against all of the teams that it is going to play; including the Nets. I highly doubt that the Nets will even be able to pull a win over Philly, considering that Webber is back.
 
Don't disappointed too much, we are not out yet, everything has its turing point, like today sixers win heat, we have a home court advantage against sixers, and sixers will travel to indiana...and Cavaliers will travel to Washinton and Detroit...

It's hard to decide everything.
 
I have a good feeling that Cleveland or Philly will drop out. I think Philly has a better chacne of staying in, as Cleveland is having consistency problems, and has the harder schedule overall. Nets can still make it folks.
 
Cleveland has Pistons next....and the Pistons are on a streak. If the Nets beat Philly, which will be tough, and the Pistons beat Cleveland, then the Nets once again shall have an assured playoff spot under the condition of winning all of it games.
