Serious Props for Dame in the post game interview for his candor. Asked what POR did to make OKC miss shots, and he says it's just them missing shots, especially PG who missed open looks. Says we need to do a better job

Yeah just heard that too. It is good that he at least recognizes it and is honest about it so that we can tighten up and make adjustments so they don't have those same looks as opposed to yeah we did great, will keep it up.

Just now referenced how he too like Kanter, is considered a weak defender. None of this false bravado bullshit

Yeah. He def fouled Dame on that one steal at the foul line coming over his shoulder and he fouled CJ to block that one shot.

In fairness, if CJ attacked the front of the rim and draws more contact, it's almost impossible for him not to be shooting free throws. We tried too hard to avoid contact in this game. We need to play through them and get to the line, especially if they are going to be that aggressive and we are going to have a hard time getting open looks.

I feel like CJ can't get a whistle at the rim if his life depended on it.

Our crowd isn’t the same as it use to be during the hey days
While this might be correct for a lot of this season it is incorrect today.
Did ESPN/ABC mics just not pick it up, or was the crowd kinda weak? There were some loud moments but nothing like I've heard in the past
It was loud as fuck in there and I've been to a lot of big games.
wouldnt be too surprised if we sweep them. Our crowd was louder during our season opener vs the lakers than they were tonight and we still won

OKC looks like shit
Wrong about the crowd. It was way louder than the Lakers game because like 1/3 of that crowd were Lakers fans. Not too many OKC fans there today.

My only complaint is, we won't win this series unless something changes. Looking at the quality of shots two teams are getting tells more about who is going to win than the current scoreboard.

Once again, too much hero ball at the end of the game. It worked out, barely, but then we did have a lead. Our interior defense is a sieve. We gave up way too many offensive rebounds. Nurk used to clean up a lot of the easy dribble penetration but we no longer have that. Perimeter defenders need to do a better job.

Crowd sounded loud to me. Mics dont pick up crowd noise like it used to.

I was at both games. Today was louder

My only complaint about this game was Collins getting so many minutes. I'd like to see Meyers get a shot. Collins looked in over his head. Not saying Meyers would do better but he should get a shot.
Because Leonard plays the PNR worse then Kanter. Zach wasn't great today but he did make some defense plays out there tonight. What piss me off on rebound he should of got and bounce out of his hand without any contact. But he still have to better though.

Haha that was awesome. Barkley just said, " I don't know why everyone worries about a Kanter being a bad defender. I was a bad defender and I'm in the Hall of Fame! ... If you're giving me 20 and 18 I don't care about your defense."

I know it's not that simple but that as still funny as hell!

Great win

But gotta be a little concerned how easy it was for Okc to score on PNR situations. They shot like crap and had a chance in the closing minutes. It took a great 30 foot 3 from Dame to get the separation. And 2 big offensive rebounds from Kanter to secure the win. Lots of turnovers and missed free throws today.

Need to clean that up. I expect that we need to play even better to take game 2. PG and Westbrook look banged up. If so, need to take advantage. Can’t wait till game 2. Go Blazers!

Theres no doubt we need to play better that goes without saying. But, and especially after hearing Dames press conference, I think these guys are up to the task. A lot we have to clean up and I believe that they can.

Your post is crap.

You have to try and justify trashing the team the whole game but them still winning.

Imagine an alternate reality where we lose game 1 to the Jazz and all those people who were scared to play the Thunder go into hiding.

Amazing how crazy that last night of the regular season was. Even though we got swept by this team in the regular season, I think we match up with them way better and all of them were close. Utah killed us twice and Gobert makes Dame and CJs life a living nightmare. Regardless if we win or lose this series, Im glad we got the thunder over the Jazz.

They have been making a big deal about their shooting in this game, but our bench was equally as shitty.

If our bench plays better next game, I don't think it will be close.
Layman can't be getting DNP-CD's in the playoffs after playing like he did in the regular season. WTF was that, Terry

Both teams rely a lot on hero ball. Yes the Blazers gave up their lead, but they did a really good job at rebounding the ball. Yeah OKC probably wont shoot that bad all the time but the Blazers had a lot of turnovers too.

We played terrible tonight sorry if u didn’t see that but I call it how I see it

Also, the Thunder are shitty as a team at shooting. Paul George was the only player who shot surprisingly poorly. Everyone else on that team has the range of Shaquille O'Neal. George (probably) won't keep shooting that poorly, but the Blazers didn't play a perfect game by any means.

We didn't play well enough. Paul George had a horrible game and we barley won at home. This win was huge though because the losing streak in the playoffs has been put to bed and that will help our guys mentally.
