Yeah, of course, but only to an extent. I still think it’s weird that many other users were saying the same thing as me. I figure Either the network was squelching the sound for only the blazers or people on this forum got it wrong (it’s not exactly easy to estimate decibel levels in a stadium and determine if it’s louder than other stadiums). I still think either is possible, but I do take into consideration the subjective opinions of many users here swearing it was loud. Not sure why y’all care so much about what I think but hey - I’m flattered.

Why is it a big issue to me? Because I believe the crowd has a huge influence on the game, I think the blazer fans haven’t lived up to their past levels of enthusiasm, and I suspected that happened in this game.

Don't the sound engineers pull out some of the crowd noise for TV ? I dj'd over in Germany for a year and a lot of times I opened for a band at some clubs and they would let me sit in with the sound engineer there. I could adjust the vocals of the band or riffs on guitar solo's and or drum solo's. So am I wrong on that assumption?

You guys really think highly of your subjective opinions. It couldn’t possibly be that you thought the game was louder than it was - or that you forgot the numerous lulls in the crowd noise (I.e. in the second and third quarter especially) and remembered the intense moments. Plus, what are you comparing the noise to? You aren’t using objective measures like decibels, you’re just saying “it sounded loud to me” without comparing that loudness to other stadiums at all.

I’m not really sure if it was relatively loud or not, I simply said it didn’t seem like it on TV, and no one has made a compelling argument against this observation. You all just keep saying “sounded loud to me” like this is something that’s supposed to blow my mind and end the discussion.

That being said, I already stated I would “take your word for it” so you can stop complaining about this whenever you want.

If the blazer crowd actually broke records for crowd noise in the 2nd and 3rd quarter I’ll eat my hat. The 100-Section looked dead on TV for most of the second and third quarter - barely any chants were audible. If the clown thinks Moda was loud for game 1. Then it was loud.


The Blazers were lights-out great in the first quarter, scoring 39 points -- five better than any quarter they’d managed vs. OKC this season. They won the game in that one quarter. Aside from the actual basketball, I thought the home crowd provided a huge lift.

Moda Center was loud. Ear-splitting, even.

Be sure OKC will rebound in Game 2. Paul George won’t be as bad as he was in Game 1. Not possible. He was terrible, on a lot of wide-open shots. So I think winning Game 2 is going to require a more complete effort from Portland,
