Expect Davis to start at Center. Lakers will probably go with Lebron/KCP/Green/Kuzma/Davis to improve the Spacing.
We need to weather the storm especially in the beginning, i expect the Lakers to come out hot and hit some 3s, we can't expect them to go again for 5/32
Why would they come out hot? They've played badly all bubble and there is no home crowd to get them going. If they were capable of getting hot, they would've done it last game.

Zach, Hood, Skal, Ariza, Little

We have 5 forwards out and are playing the team with two MVP forwards.

I dont want to hear Lakers bitching about how things would be different if they had Bradley, etc.

Fuck the Lakers.

Skal isn't on the team, he was traded, and for the bubble, Ariza isn't on it either. Might be that Ariza has played his last game as a Blazer. I don't count either of those guys

It's too bad, as Ariza is the one guy out of those 5 that I believe could have really made a difference.

I’m expecting LeBron to try to take on more of the scoring. If he had competent teammates, he’d have had 25 assists. Green is capable of getting hot and so is Kuzma, but I don’t expect James to allow them many misses before he starts calling his own number.

Are you a Lakers fan?

Skal probably isn't traded away for cash if he isn't hurt. Ariza opted out like Bradley, my point was we are onto 6th options at forwards this year and still beat LAL so I don't want to hear Lakers fans shit excuses for Bradley opting out which there are already rumblings of.

But, the rim was bent

Even if the NBA allowed Ariza now, he wouldn't be out of quarantine in time to play in this series

I've hammered all the laker excuses today, over and over

basically, it's excuses why their team isn't better than it is. Same goes for the Blazer excuses why the team isn't better. Excuse is excuse. It's extremely rare for a team to be 100% healthy for the playoffs. Having injured players is rather unremarkable

all these guys are injured and not playing, as of this point:

Rajon Rondo (LAL)
Patrick Beverly (LAC)
Will Barton (Den)
Gary Harris (Den)
Russell Westbrook (Hou)
Luguentz Dort (OKC)
Bojan Bogdanovich (Utah)
Mike Conley (Utah)
Ed Davis (Utah)
Jalen Brunson (Dal)
Trey Burke (Dal)
Willy Cauley-Stein (Dal)
Courtney Lee (Dal)
Dwight Powell (Dal)
Zach Collins (Por)
Rodney Hood (Por)

not going to bother with the Eastern C

I didn't bother listing injured guys who aren't in rotations like Nasir Little. And, Bradley & Ariza aren't injured...they cancel

again, it's part of the playoff picture every year. And sometimes it has a big impact, like when Duncan got injured for the Spurs or Durant & Curry got hurt for the Warriors

Does Ariza get a ring if we win the championship? How about Swanigan?

Skal and Baze too, then? H0w about Tolliver? Did Jonas V get a ring with the Raptors last year?

They do it in baseball all the time.

There's probably a cut off date or something, again, like baseball.

I think for the most part we just keep doing what we're doing on D, put pressure on AD, close out on all of the supposed shooters and while limiting him the best we can, let LeBron do his thing... he can't beat us alone. The things that will change are that Dame will assert himself more going forward in this series (I guarantee that), we won't give up as many offensive boards and I think the Dame and Nurk show will be more than just a first quarter act. Both teams will shoot better percentages at least overall field goal percentage the difference is their number of shots will go down and ours will not. I don't think they'll make more threes, there is no reason for me to think that they will shoot better. Their offense is an inside out offense and when we efficiently shutdown the inside it kills what they do outside. We really are a terrible match up for them.
If we actually play defense (like Nurk, Whiteside??!! and GTJr) then it is a complete circle.

Damn, fires must be close, air full of smoke. Lucia and I are choking. Need to pack evacuation bag.

this isn't the sign of a confident team. we really need to take advantage tonight.

Kyle Kuzma wasn't shy about speaking up about his role when asked about the starting lineup, all but volunteering his services to join the Lakers' first unit that found itself down by nine points in the first quarter Tuesday before Vogel made a substitution.

"It's me being confident saying, 'Yes,' but I'm not the coach," Kuzma said when asked if he could help the starters. "I'm just a player. So, I just kind of just do whatever they ask me to do. That's my job. Starring in my role. Playing with effort, playing with enthusiasm, and if they call on me to start, then obviously you guys have seen what I've done, what I do, I just come in and just try to be myself. So, play hard and play free-spirited." ....

McGee pointed out that by him remaining the starting center, Davis "gets to play the position that he really wants to play which is the 4."

Yeah they don't have good options.

Lets say they move Davis to center. He doesn't want to band inside against our bigs extended minutes of the game. They also don't have guard depth. Then they can only play one of McGee/Dwight, and the other one will be very unhappy to get DNP. When they trap Lillard with Davis, they would need Kuzma to protect the rim? That will really open up the floor for us on offense. They don't have experience playing any games with the bulk of Davis minutes at center, they'd be having to test entirely new rotations in the middle of the playoffs.

If they stick with their current lineup the middle is clogged. They don't have spacing. They are allowing us to play Nurk and Whiteside to their strengths.

They have lost one game and you already hear excuses, complaining, players not happy with roles, players unhappy with minutes, shifting the blame to shooters and others. They sound like a mentally weak team.

I think if we win tonight the Lakers will give up. They will know this isn't their year. They thought they were title favorites, they had the two best players in the series. Now they don't have any of that, and its only the very start of round 1.

It was title or bust for them this year. They know four rounds are much harder that this first round, and while we are great for an 8th seed, we are nowhere near a top title favorite in the league. All of the future rounds will be against more difficult more complete teams. All the future opponents will have better defense, and they only scored 93 points on us.

If the Lakers can't win a title, do they want to go through all the effort of additional weeks fighting in the bubble? Many on their team won't. Even Lebron is complaining how difficult the bubble is. Would they prefer to go back to their mansions in LA and work on movies, use excuses that their loss is from the pandemic? Beat them tonight and the pressure, negativity, inflated egos, blaming of others, desire to leave the bubble, excuses will pile on for the purple and piss. They are mentally weak.

Dame could use the rest of an easy series win. CJ could use the time to heal up. Lets stomp on their throats tonight! Win tonight and the Lakers will fold!

Go Blazers!

I do believe who wins Game 2 will win this series.
