Cortisone shots take about 24-36 hours to take effect. Not sure he had one but on a rotator cuff injury they work pretty good for a while.

Yeah it takes the pain away for a short period, but the injury is still there. If he isn't careful it will get worse.

Of course they are. But as good as Nurkic is, no one is putting him in the same category as George. Also, our back up for Nurk is 10x better than whomever they have to spell PG13. Good for Portland.

0% of Nurk is a bigger loss than 50% of George. Sure, Kanter is doing an admirable job filling in for Nurk, but do you think that Leonard and/or Collins are doing as good of a job with the second unit than Kanter would if he was playing there?

Injuries are a part of the game. Portland's had more than their share this year and it would be cheap to play down a win over the Thunder because George isn't at full strength.

The story i read is that they are thinking that it's a small tear with little chance of getting worse. DISCLAIMER! - I am not a doctor. I don't know shit! I was a pitcher though and have a worn rotator cuff. Painful as all get out. Cortisone did help a bunch.

That made my day. A question was asked about Leonard or Collins comparing to....well almost anyone with a pulse would be bad for them. Of course NO ONE thinks that. Fun question though.

Yeah, they know he needs surgery after the season

Ya I don't know why @TBpup is making excuses for them. The fact that they have PG at all means something.

What it does it effect how he shoots it with that injury so his release point is not the same as if he was healthy. Plus it must be sore because I know Zach hitting good on that shoulder and fell couple times too.

I wasn't arguing that George isn't playing to his full capabilities, but he still scored 26 points. The Thunder are getting at least 50% production out of him, which is better than getting nothing out of Nurk.

I think it will get harder for Kanter to go bang against Adams as the series goes on. Adams is in another weight class and he's a plays physical. Collins or Meyers will need to step up.

Adams isn't in another weight class. Both are ~250 lbs. Adams is one inch taller. Collins is substantially lighter.

I guess if you call 10 pounds substantial then sure. But really you are wrong in the original idea. Adams is 265 and Kanter is 250 and Zach is 240.

Really hope in g2 we don't have a repeat of turnovers, dropping easy passes, and missing open layups.
But above all else. I hope we just win.

Well, this is not looking good.. for us. I can't imagine Paul George having a 2nd awful shooting night in a row against us.

You do realize even players like Ben Simmons, Ed Davis, Robin Lopez, etc can hit threes in practice right?
This isn't 'weird' for nba players.

Hell back when Miller & Korver were teammaters Miller beat Korver in a 3 point contest in practice.

Maybe I put this the reason why he not shooting well from the outside as something to due with his shoulder. Due to the pain he probably not releasing it where he wants to from long distance. He will score though from the line and by his drives to the bucket. I know he great shape but look up his minutes in the last he has log in 38-42 minutes a game with a screw up shoulder this be taking a little toll on him.

Lots of guys hit shots in practice...that is not what I'm too worried about. However, if he is 'pain free', that makes a difference because he is a proven shooter in games an more particularly, against the Blazers this season when healthy.

Kanters practiced against him for years. It's not a boxing match either.

Meyers practiced against Nurkic for years, does that mean he can guard him? Adams was eating against Kanter last night until Donovan (or Westbrook, I don’t know who’s in charge in OKC) went away from him for whatever reason.

I don't think we know how much any of these guys actually are, since they don't generally release players' preseason weights, and since players' weights generally change over the course of the season.

We do know, however, that Adams is routinely identified by other players as one of if not the strongest and most physical player in the league (Kanter said as much postgame), which was basically BGD's point in saying he is "in a different weight class". Our guys are at a physical disadvantage against Adams.
