I wouldn’t be suprised to see Collins start at the 5 this game. And if it goes well, this off season will be even more interesting. I’m a Nurk fan, he was a huge part of our turnaround this year, but there’s no denying the game is going further and further away from his style of play at the center spot. And unless he can become much more efficient and effective in the post on guys like Davis, it just doesn’t work countering their going small with us staying big and trying to bang in the post.

This isn’t to say Nurk has been the problem this series, at all. I just think you’re seeing why no team has had great success staying big against the better small ball lineups. There’s a definite need for players like Nurk on the roster and to a degree in the starting lineup, but in the playoffs they so often get exposed till their minutes are cut to next to nothing.

It’ll be interesting to see how or if this matchup influences our plans at the 4/5 going forward.

He’d stretch the defense by pulling Davis to the perimeter, opening things up for Dame and CJ to get drives to the bucket. Meyers also sets a pretty good screen and he’s good for six fouls on Davis. Nurkic can beast on the Pelicans second unit.

He had a great first game but didn't play much in the second game. In both games, his defense and offensive rebounding has been great. We outrebounded New Orleans in both games.
