I still can't decide if that shot was stupid or stupendous.
Incredible.

Surprising win, Seth and CJ were pretty off tonight.

Feels good man.

It was a bad shot man, just went in. We should bench Dame next time in the clutch if he's gonna take bad shot like that. Can't have result oriented thinking amirite ?

lol it was a horrific attempt. But he's been hitting that all series long, and it makes sense to not let the refs make a decision. I'm sure he would have gotten closer if we were down instead of tied.

it was me. When they went up 15 i had to turn it off to keep my blood pressure down.
Theres at least one poster here that I was texting and when they were down 15 I was distraught. I couldnt believe it. Im so glad that a couple friends of mine were nice to me last night. I didnt turn it off, but I was so not thrilled and I was like oh no now we gotta go to OKC and had an epic meltdown at home.

To give ET some credit when he was in late with dame playing off the ball, ET got him the ball several times coming off screen with catch and shoot.
I love it when he can play more off the ball.

and with CJ in foul trouble in the first half the team needed someone else to handle the ball at times to take the pressure off Lillard and give him some rest on the floor. We only have 3 guys that can reasonably do that and that's Lillard, McCollum and Turner in that order. Layman does not offer that ability. One of the greatest wins last night, a season in which we are the 3rd seed with 53 wins and people still think they can out coach the Blazers staff from this forum.

All over America today kids are pacing off 37 feet from the bucket and realizing that's a REALLY long shot.

Amazing doesn't begin to describe Dame's shot. The game-ender that Curry made against the Thunder a couple years back had similar range:

But that game didn't have the significance of a close-out game in the playoffs, plus Curry got to step into the shot. Lillard takes a side/backstep away from the bucket and still drains the shot. Un-freaking-believable.

That shot boosted Curry as the definitive #1 PG and shooter of all time. Let's see what it does for Dame.

With about three minutes left in the third quarter, he decided it was time. That’s when Jusuf Nurkic loaded up on pain killers and started getting dressed.

He was headed to the Moda Center.

“I knew I could make a difference,” he said.

Nurkic, the Blazers’ standout center, had not returned to the Moda Center since March 25, when he suffered a gruesome compound fracture of his tibia and fibula. It was that night that many thought the Blazers’ season was over, the time to call the hearse and drive this season to the graveyard of so many past disappointments.

Lillard had visited Nurkic that night in the hospital, but they said little. They slapped hands and hugged. Nurkic, Lillard said, just shook his head, his swollen and blood-shot eyes saying all that needed to be said.

The day before Game 1, Nurkic surprised the team during their final film session, but he had yet to attend a game, the pain and the risk of a player crashing into him too great.

But he could sense something in that third quarter, and knew he was needed. By the time he made the 25 minute drive to the Moda Center, the Thunder had already gone on a 30-6 run, turning the Blazers’ 84-75 lead into a 105-90 deficit.

He crutched his way down the hallway, past the locker room and through the tunnel that leads to the court. He then abandoned his crutches and stood between Evan Turner and Meyers Leonard, the two stationed to block any players who might crash into him during play.

With 3:20 left, and the Blazers trailing 113-105, the Jumbotron showed Nurkic standing on the sideline amid the Blazers’ players. The place went nuts. All the anxiety of the late-game deficit, all the tension of facing a potential Game 6 in Oklahoma City, seemed to funnel into a tornado of energy.

From there, the Blazers closed the game on a 13-2 run.

“He gave us a nice punch,” Lillard said with a smile.
Nurk literally drove 25 mins to be there. What a boss.

BTW, CJ said on his last podcast that he's hung out with Nurk at his place a bit recently watching TV shows (Bosnian and Netflix apparently). Explicitly said they're trying to keep him engaged and in the loop to keep his spirits high. Swear I've read somewhere that Moe has done the same.

Damian Lillard Hit A Series-Ending Game-Winner For The Ages

“That’s a bad shot, I don’t care what anybody says. That’s a bad shot,” a defiant George told reporters after Oklahoma City fell, 118-115, putting an end to the five-game gentleman’s sweep.

But in a way, that’s what made it such a spectacular one. Lillard wanted to take that shot. He had more than 10 seconds to make something else happen — to drive to the hoop for a closer look, or to potentially call a teammate over for a screen to get more space — and chose not to. Instead, he opted to let the clock run down to the final two seconds, took a side-step to his right and let it fly from 37. Ballgame.

And despite George’s proclamation, that Lillard’s game-winner was a “bad shot” that went down anyway, consider this: Lillard had been doing stuff like this all series long. In fact, the buzzer-beater made Lillard an unthinkable 9-of-15 for the series from 30 feet and beyond, according to Second Spectrum. It’s part of the reason Lillard has been the most valuable player this postseason thus far.

I watched the TNT broadcast live, and I’m watching the Trail Blazers broadcast on replay now. The difference is night and day.

The TNT broadcast just shows the game, you don’t even think about the cameras because you’re just so into the game.

With the Trail Blazers broadcast however, you’re constantly missing the action, and getting annoyed, because of the cameras chosen.

@ThePosterFormerlyKnownAsTheHCP please let your director know to leave the closeups for the replays, just stick with the zoomed out view for live action, so we can actually see what’s happening.
I have said this before as well.

fuck OKC (those punk ass bitches didn't even shake hands ??)

Yeah, it's really amazing what d-bags those guys are. Don't shake hands after a playoff series, then pout during your press conference and call it a bad shot. They're like children. I'm not sure if it's funny or sad, but I'm going with funny.
