It will never happen, but this team has gotten progressively worse under him. You can count the good moves on less than one hand, while the list of bad moves is very long. And don't blame yet another coach, it wasn't Gallant's fault, it wasn't Lav's fault, and it isn't Sullivan's fault, it is one man, the constant, Drury.

The current team is inept and has zero depth and scoring. An example of a smart move would have been to trade Soucy to free up cap space to sign another top 9 forward, but that would have been a good move, and Drury doesn't do that (Drury never should have traded for Soucy in the first place - awful move).

This team is on track to be one of the 5 worst teams in the league, please don't let Drury be the guy to use that pick and make the inevitable trade deadline selling moves this season. He must go.

Well, I’ve defended Drury, but even I can’t argue with him being fired at this point. A full 4 to 5 year rebuild is needed. I don’t want him being the guy doing it.

Drury I’ve been done with. Roster just gets progressively worse. He has fired enough coaches. Get him out.

Idiot Dolan gave him an extension so Dolan is a fucking moron who should sell msg teams otherwise nothing will ever change. I guess maybe the knicks can do something this season. Also the young players haven’t taken a step forward. 2017 and onwards not a single player they’ve drafted in the first round have panned out or they traded away for peanuts.

Chuck?

But yeah, the problem starts at the top....Dolan is as incompetent as they come. Drury is not capable of assembling a highly talented and effective team. Sullivan is making quesstionable at best line-up decisions. However, losing Trochek in the first game of the year definitely forced him to scramble. The one position they couldn't afford to lose someone for any length of time. The players that are supposed to be the most impactful are aging and regressing. It's going to be a tough season.

It all boils down to who replaces Drury? I don't think he's the issue, high salary players have not delivered for whatever reason. I like that he's drafting size, Gorton swung and missed too many times with high picks including Laf. Even after guaranteeing a win against the the Debs in game 6 and scoring a hat trick then bringing home a Cup after 54 years Rangers management let Messier walk.

They don’t commit to developing forwards. They also suck at drafting centers.

Some outlets are bringing up trading Schneider possibly but I wouldn't. Still young enough to be part of a new corps.

Its still very early in the season, up to now the Rangers look nothing like a Cup contender. But still way too early to consider trading some of the younger players on the roster.

Trading Schneider would be one of the dumbest fucking moves they’ve made in over a decade and that is saying something. His partners are dog shit but next year for Fortescue should be coming. In seven games he’s a +19 for BC this year and they’re not even that good. That pairing should last us a decade.

I hope drury is fired soon before he makes anymore roster decisions. He blows st the job. Sully is a good coach but he has dogshit to work with. Do whatever you can to move zman And breadman who do nothing for this team and especially in the playoffs which I don’t think we’ll have to worry about.

I think Panarin will be moved for sure and could potentially yield a 1st round pick in return since he's a UFA after the season. Unless he gives you a short-term (3-years tops) ultra team friendly deal, unlikely, there is no way I re-sign Panarin, and even then, it may not be worth it. I rather have his $11.642M free to try and make other moves this summer, even if it has to be via trade since almost all the top prospective UFA's have re-signed already. Add in the $3.25M coming off the books with Soucy, the only guy really due a raise is Schneider, and he shouldn't get a huge bump, and the Rangers should have a lot of cap space next summer.

Hopefully someone other than Drury is making the decisions.

1. Panarin will have a huge say on if an where he goes and unless its a title contending team he may say, naw im good right where I am..plus that brings down the return price since the # of teams are limited
2. The 2026 Free Agent pool doesnt have a player that puts up the kind of points Panarin has ...unless Ovie decides he wants to end his career in NY

Moving Panarin is a must, he fucking sucks now and I hate the way this guy plays. He is not a Sullivan guy, he plays too much east west bullshit and does not want to adjust, I’ve been saying to get rid of him since the end of last year

The Panarin call is pretty simple to me. You tell him, we will not re-sign you this summer, you either accept a trade to a playoff team, if you don't we'll keep you for the remainder of the season as we miss the playoffs badly, and then you can walk this summer. If he decides he wants to stay with a losing team rather than go to a playoff contender, so be it, that's his call. I think it's highly unlikely he does, he'll accept a trade somewhere, and the Rangers will get something, even if it isn't a 1st rounder because he says he'll only go to a certain team.

Either way, the big point to me is he cannot be brought back this summer. As I said, it may have to be a trade since all the top UFA's have re-signed. With a lot of cap space, hopefully the Rangers will add quality. And even if they have to wait until the following summer, I prefer that to giving Panarin another big money long term deal, that cannot be done.
