Sorry, but I don't think people should get within 8 feet of an officer during an incident. That seems like interference to me. The cops need to be able to do their job.

All the shit the cops would have gotten away with without someone there recording. No, we need people to be our eyes and ears to keep Cops accountable. People taking videos of scenes are probably more than 8 feet away but still. People wouldn't need to record cops if they were doing their jobs.

In the case of George Floyd maybe some interference could have saved his life.

Or the interference could be used to send the officers to prison.
 
I just don't think it's appropriate or safe for bystanders to run up right next to officers during incidents just to film it. 8 feet is plenty close.

Police trying to interfere with people recording them in public should also be illegal and cost police their job.

Then they can have an 8ft rule and I won't care.

Ohio state legislator (is it necessary to say a Republican) wants both sides of the Holocaust taught. Schools should also teach from the "German" point of view. Meaning Germany in the 1930s, not now where they teach unvarnished truth about their history.
There is no bottom.

We're so close to the repeat of McCarthyism blacklisting that it's actually pretty scary. Hopefully we'll see young people lobby vote and march again for civil rights and the truth. I add Ohio to Florida and Texas as states that will not get my tourist dollars or have anything I'll buy if I know it's from there. I put my own sanctions on these states as soon as they cross the line of truth and equality.

In other Western democracies, conservative parties aren't anti science. The accept global warming, support teaching biology. In US being anti science is Republican orthodoxy. A position shared with ruling parties only in Turkey, Russia, Brazil.

It was pointed out that same sex couples raising children have skyrocketed in the past 50 years when abortion has been legal. And that they have plenty of parenting options without forcing women to be breeding animals to supply babies. Undaunted, Gaetz then talked about how raped pregnant lesbians would be able to start families.
He is both stupid and evil. For a person pregnant from rape, abortion had been an option, not a requirement. Anyone who wanted to carry a rape pregnancy could.
But child sex trafficker gets off contemplating raped lesbians.
No rock bottom for Republicans.
