BBC investigation uncovered a group of people paying to kidnap and torture baby monkeys.

Monkeys, like all primates, are intelligent and social. They bond with care givers. Some of the torturers gave the monkeys names and cared for them. They got off on the monkeys' shock and grief when the one they trusted started hurting them.

These creatures posted videos of themselves torturing the monkeys, sometimes to death. Viewers put in requests.

All baby primates look a lot alike. The differences between species start to show as the individual matures. Baby monkeys although hairy strongly resemble human infants.

We say animal as a pejorative and humane as compliment. Someone has it backwards.

(Yes I know cats famously play their food. No comparison. Cats do not have capacity to feel empathy for prey animals. And their object is to subdue prey, when they toss and bat they are literally kicking the fight out of it. They aren't taking pleasure from a mouse's fear. And they sure as fuck don't share it online.)
