At national convention of so called Moms for Liberty, national chair referenced the chapter that cited Hitler, approvingly. To loud cheers.

Tuberville is blocking all military promotions to protest the fact that women serving in US armed forces can get abortions. He is demanding the women who serve their country, which he did not, be forced to carry to term. For the first time, the United States Marines have no commandant because Tuberville is blocking assignment.

Royce White is the Republican challenging Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. He played a whole three games in the NBA so he can introduce himself as retired NBA player. He is running because women are "too mouthy". Especially Black women.

In Iowa legislature, man after man spoke telling women if they don't want to get pregnant, don't have sex.

Because we impregnate ourselves.

Right wing screamer Charlie Kirk is claiming Michele Obama, Congresswoman Shirley Jackson, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, and TV host Joy Reid "stole" a place in college from a white person because none of them have the brain power to earn a degree on their own.
Unlike him, of course.

Republicans PASS $886 billion 'anti-woke' defense spending bill that limits abortion access for troops, funding of transgender medical care and diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • The bill gives a 5.2 percent pay raise to service members and funds the Pentagon through fiscal year 2024
  • GOP included amendments on limiting access to abortion from troops
  • Also put limits on diversity and inclusion considerations in recruitment and funding for transgender care

Weird to think we were somehow more supportive and accepting of trans women in 1952 than we are today in 2023. Trans women serving in the military before transition was a fairly common thing because that GI healthcare was really good, and covered all the very expensive procedures some trans women want to get. The culture of acceptance that began with Christine Jorgensen is gone.

Pretty insane results for the 1950s. Also worth noting that Christine intended to just blend into society, so the positive press (for lack of a better term) was a bit of an invasion of privacy.

It was the 1950s so there was a lot of that “Miracles of the Atomic Age” type of coverage where the science was actually the star. There were certainly many before her who did completely disappear into their new life and never got found out until they died. A lot of trans guys in the 1800s as an example.

Although the Oklahoma state school superintendent is banning teaching about the Tulsa race massacre, he wants to require teaching the Christian bible. He said it is the foundational document of the United States. Silly me, I always thought the foundational document was the Constitution.
