When I was that age children rarely wore glasses. There was an idea children didn't need corrective lenses. So children only got glasses if they were absolute bats. As in eyesight. I was a bat. The only child in the elementary school with glasses. When my adult teeth came in they stuck straight out. My mother would put my hair in a pony tail or braid but it never stayed neat.

Fuck calling it bullying. It's abuse. It was constant. Teachers and school authorities turned their backs.
 
Texas governor Abbott pardoned a man sentenced to 25 years for murdering a Black Lives Matter demonstrator.
 
The murderer Abbott pardoned had made a series of racist posts on social media as well as publicly saying he wanted to kill Black Lives Matter protesters. That is why jury rejected claim of self defense. He also tried to connect with young girls on line and was being prosecuted for sharing explicit photos with an underage girl.
 
Courtney Gore is a conservative Christian mother of four in small Texas town of Granbury. She is co-host of right wing local radio broadcast who had appeared on other right wing broadcasts where she heard that schools were being used to indoctrinate children in critical race theory, transgender ideology and far left politics. So she ran for school board pledging to ensure schools teach traditional American values and was elected.

Unlike most would be book burners, Ms. Gore actually investigated. She pored over curricula and lesson plans. And found that there was no critical race theory, children were not being told to change gender, there was no indoctrination. She reported this to colleagues, thinking this was good news. Bad things were not happening! Instead, she was isolated. Dismissed. When she went public, she received death threats.

This Christian conservative is really not understanding why being honest about something good is such a bad thing.

Are you talking about their declaration regarding bridge lighting, or was there something else actually relating to flags?

Bridge lights cannot display rainbow lights or Juneteenth.
He is not yet banning display in private homes.

Unfortunately school authorities often feel more sympathetic to abusers than victims who they see as odd. They quote sticks and stones bullshit or say ignore it and it will go away.

This is Russian justice.

Ever since the supreme court ruled leos can lie to obtain information that can be used in court. More and more leos are abusing this privilage. Heck some leos receive special training now on how to lie to obtain info that can be used against you.

Now, when I am talkimg to an leo, I just assume everything they are saying is a lie. Which is a shame, because there are still a few good leos around.

Sadly, depending on the situation and the leos agency. It can be a crime to lie to an leo. In some situations, a felony.


Forgot to mention. Not only are leos trained to find reasons to stop you. They are trained to ask trick questions to get your permission to do searches without a search warrent.

A lable for many types of govt law enforcement officers, in many agencys.

From local city police officers, all the way up to many of the FBI agents.

Say you lie to an FBI agent, but do not understand why he is asking you questions. In some cases, you may have commited a felony, if he is working a terrorist case,

Yes, disgruntled former employee. Heard that before. Also noted company did not keep appropriate records to show compliance with non-discrimination laws nor did they post notice of federal equal employment law as required.

also, since 2016 we’ve seen quite a few prominent white supremicists who weren’t white themselves. The non-white aspect is a red herring at best.

Don't know what happened. But if it was a disgruntled ex employee most companies would immediately apologize and take down listing.
 
Texas working on plan that would make it impossible for any Democrat to win statewide election.
Currently state elections are decided in the normal fashion, by who gets most votes. Texas has one of the lowest voter turnouts in the country thanks to laws making it very difficult for the wrong people to vote. But demographics are changing. In wooing tech companies with low taxes and no environmental, health or safety regulations they also got an influx of well educated high turnout voters who support women's rights, marriage equality and caring for environment.

So the new scheme is a weird sort of electoral college. Candidate wins elections not with majority of votes but majority of counties. Texas is a huge state with a lot of small rural counties with a very small population that is very conservative. These counties of a few hundred would be equal to Harris County, which includes Houston. And there are hundreds of these tiny counties. A candidate could be elected with as little as 2% of popular vote.
