BYW Republicans saying French election rigged because the fascists lost. Was Britain, where Labour won landslide, also rigged? What about Iran, where reform candidate beat religious hard liner?
 
The NYT was always conservative but holy hell, the hand wringing over policy that might benefit the poors is so hilarious. Will the scourge of *checks notes* minimum wage being livable destroy the fabric of the world economy?

If you just raise your kids right they'll never want to do anything unnatural like have sex.

They might get caught frantically tapping their feet under bathroom stalls, but there is nothing in the Bible about bathroom stalls.

Using the CPI Inflation calculator (https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl?cost1=26430&year1=198405&year2=202405) this is equivalent buying power to $80,278.95.

Unfortunately, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/wkyeng.pdf) the median income in 2024 is currently ~$56,950.00 which is equivalent to living on $18,750 in 1984, which is about 71% of the 1984 median.

For Gen-Z, living within your means might be a challenge with only 71% the buying power Boomers had at the same age. But I'm sure the problem must be taxes, which have never been lower.

Edit 2: U.S. cops kill over a 1,000 people a year. Canada's cops, in 2nd place, kills less than 30.

The U.S. holds 1/5 of all the prisoners on the planet. Holy fucking shit, we just may be a police state.

I'm not listening to Biden because it doesn't matter. Literally.

Trump can't be allowed to win after an attempted insurrection.

Not to mention the horrific rulings his supreme court has been making, or the terrible job he did as president.
