Expected. Don't tell me you actually thought a team with 0 playoff experience will do anything other then get curmstomped in its own home? :)

Btw, You are hereby named the portland failblazers.

Why don't you do us all some good and go jump in front of a train.:drumroll:

Screw you and the horse you rode in on.

Don't you just love the way L*ker fans can get away with anything? This diseased little vermin is far more obnoxious than Mixum......and the "powers that be" just let him run amuck.

(now watch - our comments about him WILL get edited)

is anyone else annoyed how scola played aldridge, but the fouls pryz got on yao?

LA could not buy a call to save his life. Steve Blake got nailed on a three point attempt, no call. Shane Battier comes down on Brandon's foot after a three-point attempt, gets three free throws. Anyone who says the refereeing had no impact on the game did not watch the game. I am not saying we deserved to win with the lousy effort we brought, but the officiating was atrocious.

I was more annoyed at the number of offensive fouls we had, and the fact that LMA and Outlaw had to resort to using them.

Yeah, I don't think the officiating had anything to do with it tonight. We got outplayed every way from Sunday. When Scola went in for that offensive rebound, there were three Blazers standing around flat-footed and not boxing out.

Crazy thing is, Houston only had 3 more field goals then us! This was an old fashioned ass woopin'! Hopefully our boys learn from it!

C'mon, HCP, that's just not good enough. You've got to give us some inside dope here. How are the Blazers feeling after the game? What's their attitude? Pissed? Depressed? Dazed? Mad as hell and not going to take it anymore!

(I hope it's the last one).

I'm really dissapointed that we didn't make a defensive adjustment on Yao earlier in the game. I thought the game was over in the 1st quarter. When Yao went off, you could see it just relaxed the WHOLE Rockets team. Like a collective "okay, we go this". It's one thing to get down 10-15 points early against a team like Utah or Memphis, or . . . but when you pin yourself in that kind of whole against a defense like that you're screwed. It's almost impossible to put together one of those 36 point quarters you need to take the game back over.

Yao does what he does REALLY well. But he's got flaws. He's slow and not athletic. Why didn't we front him earlier? He starts off 5-5 and we're down 10 points. You can see he's getting ANYTHING he wants with Joel playing behind him and even worse it's opening things up for everyone else like Brooks, Scola, and Ron Ron. I just can't believe we didn't change that earlier. Game 2? 2 late.

I know, I know . . Mr. Doom Gloom. I don't think we can come back from this. We might win game 2, but I think they'll be happy with that and go to Houston and get pounced twice. Then maybe we win one more at home, or not. 5 or 6 games and we're gone. 79% of teams that win game 1 win the series. Probably even higher when you win game 1 on the ROAD. The whole tone for the series is set now. Houston is big and bad and physical and we are wide eyed and happy to be here. I thought we needed this game. Hell, we could have lost game 2 and I'd still feel that way. We needed to believe we can beat these guys. And they came in and whipped our buts worse than anybody has all year (on our home court) in the biggest game of the year. How do you come back from that? Maybe if you're a battle tested veteran team you can. We wet the bed as Kobe would say. And it's a big one.

I won't be mad if we lose. We probably overachieved to get home court in the 1st place.

Good post, Kaydow. We're all trying to be brave and put a good face on this, but we know that this was probably a death blow. It's going to be extremely difficult for the Blazers to come back and win the series after gettig their ass handed to them in this opening game. They're just too young and inexperienced. They are probably questioning their manhood and everything else this morning.

It's not impossible for them to come back, and I will be praying that they do, but it feels like the series is over to me, as well.

Great post Kaydow, pretty much sums up my feelings about the game.

Artest, Yao and Scola are body blowing the shit out of our starters and until we bang back the Rockets win!!!!!! It's that easy! This is Varsity vs JV right now and it shows. Every time Yao gets the ball in the low post he gets the basket and the foul, well now it's time to make him earn those foul shots. If you're going to get the foul anyway drive his ass into the ground to get um. By fourth quarter he'll be bruised having Joel and GO smacking the crap out of him 10 times. LA needs to do the same with Scola bang him on every post up.

I think our guys forget they are huge too!

I'm not. These experts just want to sell a Lakers-Blazers series. The Rockets beat you without a Brandon Roy, and don't sell outside of their local market. Look at the NBA playoff predictions thread.
What about China? I'd imagine they sell pretty well there.

I sort of include China now since Yao has been with the Rockets for 7 years and will retire a Rocket.

But outside of Houston and China, they don't sell very well which is what the NBA hates. The Rockets had good ratings in the 93-94 and the 94-95 finals, but Stern believes that had more to do with Shaq/Penny and the Knicks match ups.

Whoever wins plays the Lakers. The Blazers would sell more, and maybe they can beat the Lakers. It's happened before not long ago against Dallas. I still think in a 7 game series, LA would win it.

I don't see how you can say the Blazers would sell more when the country with the highest population on the planet would be watching the Rockets. What am I missing?

Aaron Brooks will not shoot 10-17(5-8 from 3) in another game again. We're talking about a 40.4 FG% shooter in the regular season. He was just incredibly on his game last night and that isn't the norm.

Overall the Rockets were just on fire. It didn't matter what kind of shot they took - it went in. I don't expect that to continue over the course of a 7 game series, which is how far I think this one to go.

Don't tell me you actually thought anyone around here gives a shit what a troll like you has to say.

Oh, and failblazers. Glad you could take time out of your busy day of watching anime to come up with that.
