I got to admit he reminds me of Harpring too. Two sport kid, throws his body around. But more athletic.
I am pissed about RHJ, but I like this kid too. Could be a good replacement for Wes.

Connaughton: white Wes Matthews?

Standing 6'5.25 in shoes with a 6'9 wingspan, Connaughton has good, but not outstanding size for a wing. He is, however, a terrific athlete with great explosiveness and a strong frame who competes and gained plenty of experience against bigger players as he frequently played the power forward position this season, as the Irish employed a small lineup that devastated opposing defenses.

Connaughton's intrigue at the NBA level starts with his role-player potential on the offensive end. Finishing as the Irish's third leading scorer last season behind Jerian Grantand Zach Auguste, Connaughton ranked fifth among NCAA players using 400 or more total possessions this season scoring 1.113 points per possession. Nestled in between Jahlil Okaforand Frank Kaminsky, Connaughton was one of the more comprehensively efficient players in the college game.

Damn...he had a 44 inch vertical at the combine?

1, yes Aldridge is definitely gone. I still can't believe it.

2, starting to thibk none of this is "part of a bigger plan" we are literally just in full rebuild mode...again....

Are we really going to waste Lillard's prime years? God it sucks being a blazer fan. Literally the worst franchise to root for.

cubs come to mind...

I would rather keep these guys. they are more athletic than Hibbert. Connaughton has a 44 " vertical leap
He is not bad at all. Tough physical guard who can shoot.

He will either wreck his arm in the minor leagues, or he will be the rare pitching prospect who pans out and can make more money in baseball. Either way, he will never wear an NBA uniform.

I think Portland should go after Deandre Jordan before Love, because Meyers Leonard would fill the Kevin Love role. We could have a 3 man rotation with Jordan/Leonard/Plumlee.

And we should have enough money to bring either Aflallo or Matthews back. I don't think either will get nearly as much as they want.

God help us all!

Best case, Plumlee is a lateral move from RoLo. Not worth what we gave up for him.

You got him AND $2M in cap space.

Hibbert is a really big contract for a guy who could only command 25 minutes a game (similar to Plumlee).

And if he takes Rolo's place, you get the difference between whatever Mason makes and Rolo (who wants like 10 million)

What are the Blazers doing? Are we rebuilding or trying to compete? I seriously don't know right now

Connaugton reminds me of KJ McDaniels but has a jump shot. He'll be a steal, and possibly the 3 and D guy that is drafted way to low. (Happens almost every year).

We're setting ourselves up for a head start on a rebuild while putting ourselves in positon to contend depending on what happens in free agency. We're also getting wayyyyyy more athletic. Vonleh, Connaughton, Henderson, Plumlee. And we set ourselves up for major cap space. I think Olshey is in the middle of a genius plan right now, contrary to what most of yall think.

I always like the way you think mags...we do have a shit ton of cap space..I haven't watched a lot of Mason Plumlee maybe he's the next Marc Gasol?
Yeah I honestly think we are going to be fine. I'm pretty confident right now

I said the other day that nothing could push me from being a Blazers fan. The Blazers have decided to test that by acquiring as many Duke players as possible.

Plumlee is talented and has a high motor..hustle guy. He made team USA on his skillset. Doesn't cost a fortune
