A rookie Cooper Flagg hasn’t gotten them a championship yet… Ok well time for Dallas to move on the, maybe we can get him for a 2nd rounder since Jokic was a second round pick. Toumani and Deni are two tiers below Jokic and Flagg generously in the case of Camara.
Maybe you have a time-machine, but I doubt it. Why are you predicting perennial first round exits? I think we have a lot of talent and get Dame next year. I'm all for trying to make the playoffs and see what happens, the experience alone is invaluable. If we're so inclined we could always trade into the draft later anyways.
Trading into the draft is brutally expensive for an impact player and this year’s draft will be especially so. Because we don’t have the talent to compete with Spurs, OKC, Wolves, LAL always a threat to land a superstar to pair with Luka, and Denver is on a similar timeline to us as we are currently built. All of them are on comparable or better timelines.
I think we just disagree on the amount of talent the team has. Deni, Clingan, Camara, Sharpe and Scoot will all likely still improve. What they need is playoff experience. We won't really know what we have until they actually have the chance to compete in the playoffs.

Probably 5x higher than any draft in recent memory. The whole point of a loaded draft is that all stars drop below the top 10 which otherwise is exceedingly rare.
That they gutted the team (tanking) to get. Its insanely rare for a team that isn’t a major market to get a superstar without tanking. Look at SAS they got two generational talents and then bolstered the second one (Wemby) with absolutely egregious tanking. The Blazers haven’t outright tanked in ages its a big part of our problem actually. Horrible management (Olshey, Pritchard, the other Asian guy whose name escapes me) and their horrible contracts when what we needed to do at some point was commit to a tank.
Right now we are in the 13th spot but there are two teams from the East who will have better records than us who will miss the playoffs. One of the teams between us and the 1st pick will have to be a team that beats us.
Yes! We beat them when nobody else could, and I LIKE the Spurs, whereas I prefer it if I really hate the team we're playing against.
Come on. They lost more in the playoffs practically than they did all season. If they'd played to the same level as the regular season they would've lost about one game (like the second Lakers' championship). Instead they looked very beatable against Denver AND Indy.
Lillard wasn't from tanking, he was from the Nets Gerald Wallace trade. Meyers Leonard was the product of the Blazers tanking.
Disagree. The talent on the roster is mostly young and ascending. I don't think as is it will definitely blossom into championship talent, but could see them become outside contenders with some minor tweaks and continued internal development. I've been a proponent of holding onto the Bucks picks and not doing something stupid like going after some aging star like so many here impatiently craving a sugar high.
Again, we are getting some percentage of Damian Lillard next season, and he’s looking better than I expected already. I’d take that as our draft pick and enjoy it.

Stompman, it was just a joke because of the typo. I even highlighted the typo in bold in quoting the post. It was a hilarious typo to make pod into pos, so my post was to merely jump on the chance to define what 'poscaster' could only reasonably be. In reality, I'd love to check it out; it sounds good.
