Illegal immigration is causing poverty in this country. Overburdening social programs and taking jobs away. Or did you just think we don't want illegal immigrants here because they look bad and smell funny?
Wrong! The Democratic Party focuses mainly on the poverty class. The Democratic Party veer towards the lower and middle class people, because the equality issues regarding social construct. Anyone that supports "free enterprise" would not focus mainly on the poor.

Basically, the more liberal you are, the more you want economic equality. The more conservative you are, the more you support other social issues

Only 1 concern (lol!)

1. Illegal immigration. "Any immigration plan must improve jobs, wages and security for all Americans."

More from Trump on illegal immigration and poverty.

Put American Workers First

Decades of disastrous trade deals and immigration policies have destroyed our middle class. Today, nearly 40% of black teenagers are unemployed. Nearly 30% of Hispanic teenagers are unemployed. For black Americans without high school diplomas, the bottom has fallen out: more than 70% were employed in 1960, compared to less than 40% in 2000. Across the economy, the percentage of adults in the labor force has collapsed to a level not experienced in generations. As CBS news wrote in a piece entitled “America’s incredible shrinking middle class”: “If the middle-class is the economic backbone of America, then the country is developing osteoporosis.”

The influx of foreign workers holds down salaries, keeps unemployment high, and makes it difficult for poor and working class Americans – including immigrants themselves and their children – to earn a middle class wage. Nearly half of all immigrants and their US-born children currently live in or near poverty, including more than 60 percent of Hispanic immigrants. Every year, we voluntarily admit another 2 million new immigrants, guest workers, refugees, and dependents, growing our existing all-time historic record population of 42 million immigrants. We need to control the admission of new low-earning workers in order to: help wages grow, get teenagers back to work, aid minorities’ rise into the middle class, help schools and communities falling behind, and to ensure our immigrant members of the national family become part of the American dream.

This is exactly why I support him. He stands his ground on a lot of liberal issues I support, while still gaining ground on my fiscal issues. The fact that the Republicans and Democrats are against him says a lot!

How does this relate? Are you trying to argue that the Republicans focus on poverty more than the Democrats? Or are you saying both parties focus on poverty equally? Either one is full of shit no matter how hard you want to play it

I asked you to show me which republican presidential candidate isn't addressing poverty and poverty related issues.

You asked, "Which of them have this issue as their top 5 concern?"

I look up 2 off the top off my head and boom! Poverty and poverty related issues are a huge concern.

Why are you working so hard to make poverty some strange democrat conspiracy that only they cause and talk about? Why are you trying to make poverty a liberals only issue?

I am telling you that Liberals focus more on poverty than the conservatives. You went ham on things that don't even relate. It's really silly! You bring up Trump, which is running for the Republicans but most would consider him being very liberal.

Well Mags, if you go to Trump's website and click on Positions he only has one up there and that is illegal immigration. He then goes into great detail about how illegal immigration is causing, contribution to and creating poverty for Americans. I haven't gone to any of the dems websites but I'm guessing they have more than one talking point / position. I really don't have to argue anything, so far Trump according to his very own website is only campaigning on one issue and that one issue has to do with poverty.

Reagan ran on the theme, "your best days aren't behind you, they're ahead of you." A direct appeal to workers and that their wages and overall lifestyles would be better. Rising tide lifts all boats and all that goes with it.

Um yeah! If you are going to use Trump as the focus here, you are seriously flawed. He has paved a new way for the Republicans to gain the general vote. That's why I support him and that's why he is popular

I also brought up Kaisch, 2 out of his 4 positions have to deal with poverty and poverty related issues. Is he a liberal also?

So who are the real Republican presidential candidates? Name some and we can go to their websites and see if poverty and poverty related issues are a "top 5 concern" for them. I don't mind being wrong on this. I'm just not buying these sweeping generalizations that you keep posting.

Here you go sly....

It's okay... Being wrong isn't really bad... It just means you weren't paying attention

This is a great thing for America. Now lets see which party will actually put the money where its mouth is.

and as this article eloquently proves is the Republican party is doing something new. As in, they weren't focusing on the poverty like the Democrats have been. Sly was proven wrong.

That actually doesn't prove me wrong. It supports exactly what I'm saying. Both parties campaign on reducing poverty. I'm not arguing that one party does it better than the other.

Seriously, go and google Republican party platform for 1956, 1960, 1964, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, etc. THEY ALL ADDRESS POVERTY AND POVERTY RELATED PROBLEMS!

Again, both political parties focus on poverty and poverty related problems. BOTH.POLITICAL.PARTIES.

More than 50% of independents are or lean republican.

And there's 10% missing (50% poverty, 40% not, 10% something else?)

The approaches are very different. Hand up vs. hand out.

The approach is not what you think it is. The Democrats support more welfare, while the Republicans support trying to build more jobs.

Are you even sure what you're arguing about?
Being wrong is okay Sly... I mean you used the 10 states being red and was wrong about that. It happens... Even I am wrong many times. We can move along now

The approaches are very different. Hand up vs. hand out.

Not disagreeing with you at all. And I'm most definently not saying that the dems position and policies are the right ones. Mags made some very wrong generalizations that I have carefully and most definitely proven wrong.

And with that statement you just proved me right. Thank you.

Again, and I'm guessing not for the last time, both parties focus on poverty and poverty related issues.

And since you are now trying to change what my stance is let me be very clear, I'm not picking a side or saying one party's answers are better than the other. I am saying they both focus on poverty and poverty related issues. You were saying that the Republicans do not.

Except the one about the oceans being dead.
