Well the slot to move to is #5, but the question is what does WAS want to move that pick?
They want a player/players to contribute now...and they want to unload salary...DAL has been angling to get that pick...I wonder if POR could trump thier offer...
Who would WAS have interest in?
Pryzbilla? probably...
Outlaw? maybe....
Blake? maybe...
Bayless\Batum....I would think so
One thought I had was that New Orleans is really in some financial trouble, they tried to offload Tyson Chandler for virtually nothing last year.....I don't think Chris Paul is going anywhere....But what if POR was able to get Chandler, using a player or two, some picks, trade exception, available cap space? I don't know what the combination would be, but IMO acquiring Chandler could be done fairly cheaply (and he is 3 years (27) younger than Przybilla) and would enable POR to offer a player like Przybilla as a piece in a deal for the #5, which would have significant value to a team like WAS...who currently has to rely on Brendan Haywood and Etan Thomas?...ugh...
Let's say then you could make a move for #5, by dangling a Przybilla and an Outlaw or Webster...maybe swapping picks and likely agreeing to take back an undesirable contract (Thomas, James, Songalia or a Stevenson) or two....
I thnk it is likely that WAS will trade the #5 pick and I also think it is likely NO will look to deal Chandler again...
Then POR could look to a guy like McDyess or J.Smith or another FA banger type to fill in at PF (Would Kleiza fit in a b\u PF role?)...or through the draft with a guy lke Adrien, Pendergraph or Heytvelt (or bring Freeland over)...
I am not going to try and put together the actual deals, that is for someone else to attempt...I just wanted to toss out the ideas....
BTW, nice post J-Ray, I think Stephen Curry has a chance to be a very good pro.....Look how Eric Gordon, another similiar player IMO, performed last year, I think he could be a Monta Ellis type of talent...apparently he is not done growing yet either, and has the potential to grow another 2" (which would bring him to 6'5)...his dad had a very late growth spurt as well apparently....and contrary to some of the opinions here, he is much stornger and athletic than many people think...he benched 185- 10 times, and had a 35.5 vert, good lane agility & sprint as well, though I take these with a grain of salt b\c in reality what matters most is, Can he play? Does he have good b-ball IQ? Does he have a clealry identifiable NBA skill? and the answer is a resounding yes for all of those questions...
