Portland interested in Mitch Kupchak

I mainly want someone with an eye for talent. It's hard to really grade Mitch on his draft record because during his tenure, it's been mostly 2nd round picks and very late 1sts.

The best drafters over the years have been the Spurs, maybe we should get one of their scouts.......oh wait

The next best has been the Thunder, maybe we should get someone from their............nevermind.

a year or two after the championship, I attended a memorable Blazer Laker game. Kupchak was on the low block posting up Lukas. Instead of going up to contest Mitch's strong turnaround shot, Luke stayed on the ground with a firm grasp on both sides of Kupchak's shorts. Shorts at his knees & jockstrap fully exposed, Memorial Coliseum exploded in laughter

I don't think he's done much to distinguish himself as a GM

I would consider this a massive win for the Blazers. I love it. Not only has Cup-Check proven he has the chops as an NBA GM, the Portland Trailblazers would punk the F*kers, in their fucking face, and that's sending a message.

This GM hire is going to be very, very interesting. Ultimately, the GM hire will paint a distinct picture of the Blazers direction. If they go with a Kerr, Kupchak, Ainge...etc....I think that would be an obvious sign that PA has finally decided to fully trust an NBA mind. None of those guys would accept this job without some level of free reign. Considering where we're positioned going in to the off-season, this would be an extremely enticing job if you knew PA wasn't going to fuck up your process.

I can't imagine it was that memorable since Kupchak and Lucas never played against eachother in a Lakers-Blazers matchup at any point in their career.

Good catch. The Blazers traded Lucas 9 months before Kupchak's first Laker game. Maybe Stomp saw one with another team.

well I was all of 12 years old, so it's not too shocking that a detail was fuzzy. It must have been just before MK became a Laker 4 Life as it was definitely him and Lukas. I knew who Mitch Kupchak was from that day forward... he was the guy Maurice pantsed

If this is true; i think it's a positive. I doubt if PA would be going after Kupchak, who will be very expensive, if he was hoping to sell the team, or if he was losing interest in the team.

I would burn every piece of memorabilia I own and piss on a random Rose Garden door if Kobe ever became a Blazer.

I would piss even harder. Want to get in a pissing contest, Chris?:chestbump:

But Chris sits down when he pees.........

lol, kupchak leaving LA because of a meddlesome owner, for the sweet freedom of Portland under Vulcan......oh wait.
Interesting. He has no doubt been helped by being in LA, but I would take it.

This.

Can't see Kupchak wanting to come here. He can thank the Blazers for leverage to renegotiate his already fat contract with Buss.

I don't care how Chris pisses, if the Blazers sign Kobe Bryant I'll outpiss anyone.

Fortunately not going to happen.

Smoke screen?

Quick is saying John Hammond from Milwaukie is in the mix now, and confirmed by Larry Miller.

Blazers president Larry Miller confirms interest in Hammond, but says he has not yet asked Bucks for permission to speak with Hammond

Larry is such a noob.

I wonder if he's going to make our draft plans public this week?

I don't want Hammond. Brandon Jennings was an alright draft move. But, Larry Sanders and Joe Alexander? Really?
