I find that absolutely ridiculous that they think this team has a lot of hype. I don't agree at all. I think most of us were there when we got Scottie and Steve Smith. THAT team had insane hype around it. I think people are excited to see what this team can become.

LMA was a cancer.

Simons is probably the most overrated player I have ever seen for this team. We all thought he would go off as soon as Dame left. He just never did. He sucks on defense and his scoring is mediocre. He regressed last season in every way. His scoring was down, his shooting was worse, his assists were down, his rebounding was down....

They have to be seriously overrating CJ.

Sports radio has been on FM before.

I just don't know why they were selling it as major news.

Another reason to be annoyed with DM.

I mean cool. But not THAT cool.

Starting tomorrow The Fan will be on 105.1 FM and have local shows all day long 6am-7pm.

So that's what the big thing at 3 was (I wasn't anywhere near a radio/phone at the time).

I've wondered why it's taken so long to go back onto FM for sports radio here. Aren't they the Ducks station too?

Dirt & Sprague: now from 6-10 a.m.
Marnang & New Guy: now 10 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Ducks Insider: 1-2
Happy Hour w/Luke Anderson: 2-3
PrimeTime: Still 3-7

All daytime local programming for a city like Portland is impressive.

Not sure I'm a fan of this, tbh.

Not that I listen to the station between 9-12 (so the 10-1 thing isn't bad), but the "Ducks insider" is an hour of dead air for me, and wtf is Happy Hour w/Luke Anderson? Better yet, who the fuck is Luke Anderson?

"The station will debut “The Firm of Harris and Marang,” a new weekday show hosted by Danny Marang and Patrick Harris from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. PT."

The Firm of Harris and Marang?

Thats the best they came up with?

Thanks brother. I like Luke Anderson and I never listen between 12 and 3, but now ill listen from 2-3.

Thank you, good sir. I know they were teasing big changes but they never actually said it when I listened lol.

I really like Harris, but by association with marang ill never listen. Sucks. They took the baseball show away so ill probably never hear him lol.

I never listen to them on the radio anyway. Either I use YouTube, Spotify or Audacy. I mostly listen to clipped segments. So moving to FM makes zero difference for me. I don’t know why they’re selling it as some HUMONGOUS NEWS!!!!!1!1!11111!!!!!

Mostly, it's the quality of the audio for games.

Listening to sports on FM is night and day better than AM (as long as they actually broadcast it in stereo).

One issue is, AM travels a *lot* better than FM does, however with things being streamed it doesn't matter.

But also matters if the stream feed is stereo or low grade.

I hate listening to the Blazer games on the radio because they have some kind of noise in it (it's a ratings detector thing) and it bugs the shit out of me.

They’ve had this up on FM for a few days now. But it randomly goes out for a few seconds at a time and I’ve gone back to streaming as my rig doesn’t have AM. Hope it was just a beta thing and works good tomorrow.

Just because the move to FM isn’t a big deal to you doesn’t mean it’s meaningless. Lots of newer cars don’t have AM. So it is pretty big news in the radio world. And FM signal & sound quality is better. Now that The Fan has 3 stations, it gives them more options when there is a Duck or Seahawks game. For example during Ducks basketball season, that stupid game can still be on 1080 & Isaac & Suke can have their show on the FM station.

Well, you can catch Beaver games on 1190 in between "Live at NAZI HQ" and "The ICE Daily Roundup Program"

Lol right? I just listen to segments on audacy and bypass all the commercials. Its the best part.

Great point. I hated when duck basketball or football pre-empted.
