What the fuck is with the weather in this city? And the weather stations too!

Portland has to be the only place that issues a severe storm warning for itself....and never gets a thunderstorm.

Look at the fucking radar! Everyone else has a thunderstorm brewing right now......except us. It's literally a giant circle of storms at least 20 miles or more away from the Portland/Vancouver area.

Fuck that shit. Even the fucking weather hates Portland!

Fucking arthritis is screaming thanks to the thunder clouds rolling through the mid-Valley...

I'm hoping we get a nice thunderstorm tonight. Nothing I like better then drinking a beer on my front porch watching a thunderstorm. A thunderstorm on my Birthday would be one hell of a treat.

I call BS.
Dogs hate thunder.

Sly is already ahead of the curve...

Does thunderstorms fuck with arthritis? I've heard severe weather can have strange effects on those with medical conditions.

It's a Severe Weather Watch in effect for the next 6 hours. Its a lot different than a warning. A watch is regional, saying that it's possible in the time frame. A warning is county-by-county and basically means that the area will/is experiencing severe weather.

EDIT: I was looking at weather.com. The KGW link did say we are under a severe thunderstorm warning, which makes no fucking sense. Haha.

Weather.com is the source to use IMO. I doubt the National Weather Service actually issued us a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. I feel like it's just KGW either fucking up and not distinguishing between "Watch" and "Warning", or they're just pretending they're the NWS and issued a warning on their own. Haha.

I actually just got home from reffing a Mac soccer game that I had to call 1/2 hour early because of the lightning.
Shame, was a good game too.

We just had a tornado warning for here and Crater Lake for like a half an hour before it got rescinded and turned into a severe thunderstorm warning. Pretty bizarre.

Nice storm just wrapped up here in Clark County. Lotta lightning.

Tell me about it. I live on McGillivray Avenue in Cascade Park, and we had a lightning bolt strike our apartment complex. It set every car alarm off in the parking lot and killed the street light 20 feet outside my apartment next to my car.

That was pretty goddamn loud.

We got jack shit here. The emergency broadcast system even came on to warn us about the storm, and I think there was like 1 distant clasp.

Humm. And here I was thinking this was gonna be about some new Portland professional sports team....

Portland should start a WNBA team and call them the women's blazers. Of course, the men's team should be renamed as well.

In the summer and fall in CO the temp raises the clouds up and over the front face to roll across the plains in the afternoon. You could set your watch to it from 4-6pm. We would literally hop in our car and drive and chase the thunderstorms.

The Portland Tail Blazers

...craziest lightning I've seen was while living in Miami (especially the shit that happened offshore) :smiley-grom:

I believe Florida is the Thunderstorm Capital of the world. I could be wrong though.

They have the most waterspouts of any place in the country though.
