Still an excellent finisher on the pick-and-roll and rebounder. His defense has slipped, though. He's no longer really an above-average defensive force.

If he came cheap, it might be a decent addition. He's still in the realm of an average defender and he might help out with leadership on the defensive end.

Tight!

BUT HE'S NOT IN THE AGE LIMIT?

Chanlder seems to be a piece you trade for IF you're desperate and delusional (see: Dallas).

He would be better NOW for the team than say, Meyers or Davis..and the team would probably not regret it if they traded away Meyers (as in, no Jermaine O'neal biting us in the ass).

All that being said, as much as it would be funny to hear Wook say he'd rather shave off his beard, quit drinking beer AND watch porn with his grandmother than have him on the team, it's a big "meh" type trade.

Chandler isn't all World defense anymore but he would be the vet voice in the locker room this team needs (also, I'm sure he could teach our young guys a thing or two defensively).

Looks like he is still rebounding well (3 games with over 20) but if you are looking for a shot blocker he will not give you many anymore.

Old ass Chandler trumps Meyers now and probably forever. So, I don't think this is any kind of transformational trade, but I'd be OK with it.

That would be a contract dump for them. We would be doing them a favor. I'd want a 2nd round pick or something else back since they have to take back similar money (or we go into the Lux Tax) and they would be getting a much younger player.

At $12M, if you could get him for Leonard or Davis and Ezeli would it really matter if he's long in the tooth? None of those guys are likely to be significant players in the Blazers' future. My bet is that they'd offer Davis and Ezeli and keep Meyers.

If it's really a trade for Leonard, it's not a contract dump really, as Leonard has a similar-ish contract. They'd be getting the younger player, Portland would be getting the better player. In my opinion, it would be a favor to us, really.

Now, if it's for Ezeli, that would be a contract dump and Portland should get a pick.

Why? What possible long term benefit could we gain from such a move? It's not like he's our missing peace to contender status now, or even a decent trade chip in the future.

Maybe if they throw in a first round pick and we give them a Connaughton and Layman. (Yes I know salaries don't match LOL)

As soon as we trade Meyers he'll become the next Channing Frye and people will be really butt hurt.

I would really like to see how Plumlee looks at the PF position playing with a more traditional center. That will tell us tons about the directions we need to move in during the offseason.

My big worry is that we trade both Leonard and Crabbe to the same team and they go onto to become the next Jordan and Pippen and we become the punchline in the NBA again.

It has been about 10 years since Tyson has played a complete season without an injury. I do not know much about his injury history, but he appears to have one or more every season. At 34 years old, and three more seasons on his contract, I believe I will pass.

I would rather hire Kaman as an asst coach than tie up cap space for veteran mentoring. Is there any rule on how many asst. coaches a team can have, and how much can be spent in a season on coaching??

I was shocked to see his bpg are at 0.4. Meyers fucking Leonard gets 0.4 in about half the minutes! And while his DRPM is decent, he's no Boban.

That said, so long as we don't give up much, he's got to improve our D. I suggest this: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zawxpjv
(Vonleh and Ezeli (whose next year is not guaranteed) for Chandler)

Chandler won a ring with Stotts in Dallas...he'd fit in quickly..he's putting up just under 8pts and 12 boards in 27 minutes this season..his contract is cheap in today's market..I can see where he fills in for Ezeli not playing and gives you a true big guy

Not really intrested in a 34 year old injury prone center who has 3 more years on his contract unless we get him for basically nothing. I wouldnt' even trade Meyers for him straight up, but then again i'v thrown in the towel on making moves that are just for this season

my first reaction was: COOL! then the realization hit me... why in the hell are we doing this? We saw GS lose last night so we think we gotta shot? lol suuuuure neil....

A. The Blazers aren't doing this...at least not yet. It's a rumor. Those always turn out to be true, right?

B. A center rotation of Plumlee and Chandler is pretty damned good.

C. Maybe there's another move to come in addition to this one? If the Blazers somehow snagged Milsap in addition to picking up Chandler, you could be talking a significant playoff run.

D. Are the Blazers only supposed to make a move to improve, even marginally, if it makes them an instant contender? I doubt management sees it that way.
