Hilarious first two episodes. Returned to strong ratings. I think it'd be much more popular if it were on a bigger network rather than IFC. Catch it if you can! Btw, Fred tried his hardest to photobomb Grimm while they were filming.

you guys are from southern Oregon and Tualatin. Like you guys know shit about shit!

take that and suck it!

Season 2 is on Netflix streaming.

Season 2 episode 2 is perhaps the perfect sketch comedy episode. Wall-to-wall quality.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of season 2 over the coming week.

I tried really, really hard to like that show.

I just couldn't. I don't get it at all.

So what's the show actually about? I heard Fred Armisen on Howard Stern yesterday promoting the show, and he didn't really describe what it was about. He said it's sort of a sketch show and danced around the word "hipster," trying to explain the culture without using that particular word.

It's part making fun of Portland (in the same way people make fun of themselves), part making fun of an inaccurate stereotype of Portlanders (done to make fun of those who act like most of Portland is like that) and to make fun of those OF Portland who are like that.

Ostensibly it's about the smug self satisfaction of the people of Portland, the place "where young people go to retire." But when it's at its best it gets at the heart of being a Bobo. A Bobo is a term David Brooks came up with to describe the Bohemian Bourgeoisie--upper middle class people who have a 80's materialistic mindset but want to pretend they are 60's free thinkers.

The sketch where they obsess over which knot to buy from a boutique knot store is an utterly classic Bobo sendoff.

The first episode of season 3 was different than any of the episodes in the previous two season. Production quality is better IMO and the sketches were hilarious from start to finish. New writers perhaps?

my favorite scene (from season 2 tho)

Nice -- Portlandia has seen a 30% bump in ratings from season 2.

Will we see a season 4? Seems like a no-brainer.

My favorite (from season 1): [video=youtube;A7aTfyEfgA8]

The Patton Oswalt cameo as being an Evite response celeb was hysterical.
