Bump

Pre free agency:

Collins
Leonard
Skal
Nurkic

Seems uhhh light. Harkless could theoretically play power forward but he does his best work on both ends at the three where he often has a size advantage. Layman same thing.

This for me should be the priority the minute FA opens.

options that I tried separating by $. Didn’t include RFAs.

Full MLE

Marcus Morris
Nikola Mirotic
JaMychal Green
Thaddeus Young
DeMarcus Cousins
Enes Kanter
Brook Lopez
Dewayne Dedmon

Tax MLE

Markieff Morris
Taj Gibson
Jeff Green
Mike Scott
Jonas Jerebko
Robin Lopez
Ed Davis
Mike Muscala
Noah Vonleh
Joakim Noah

Vet Minimum

Kyle O’Quinn
Tyson Chandler
Kosta Koufus
Greg Monroe
Marcin Gortat
Pau Gasol
Anthony Tolliver
Henry Ellenson

Obviously not everyone on here is a fit nor are all my $ predictions correct.

If I had to choose one from each category though I’d go Mirotic, Markieff, and O’Quinn. A lot depends on how the team views Zach as well. Do they plan on starting him at center while Nurk is out, or do they want him taking over at PF? We’ll find out soon.

Someone on this board has been saying this a lot ... wait a minute ... I AM that someone.

If we lost Aminu, boy, I wouldn't mind Thaddeus Young. Don't think we could afford him, but who knows what moves will be made.
I've been saying this all season.

If we keep Aminu (as backup to Collins), then we could use the MLE on a temporary center or bargain wing.

Im thinking Neil is going to swing for the fence with a trade involving CJ to add scoring punch to the front court. Just a gut feeling and don't really want CJ gone at all, but it's the 5th year of he and Paul's plan so knowing we have assets aplenty now, it may happen.
Expect the unexpected!

I would probably cap Aminu (as a backup ) at around the tax mid level figure ($5.7M.) Lets round that to $6M. Anything more and Id probably look elsewhere. Honestly though, I’m not sure they even want him as a backup, nor do I get the sense that Collins is going to be the power forward next year. I think it’s more likely he starts at center with Leonard and someone like KOQ as depth. We got owned by power forwards in the playoffs. I think that’ll be Neil’s focus, while Zach plays his natural position.

I would bet Collins starts at PF and Leonard starts at C, only because Stotts tends to like consistency in positions. When a starter is out, he is more likely to move a non-rotation player into the starting spot as opposed to a key second unit person--to keep the second unit in tact. I would think the same would go for Nurk's injury.

But, Collins seems to think his best role is C, so who knows. Collins may want all the C minutes he can get.

Sure, in the middle of a season. Not in the offseason. If we’re starting Collins and Leonard on opening night, we’re fucked.

Then you assume they are resigning Aminu and Collins and Aminu start? Any other combination I can think of would make us even worse. Personally, I'm hoping for a Collins/RoLo (or some other rental center) starting lineup. Get some FA Center who can run the PnR with Dame and play center to keep some level of consistency for when Nurk comes back.

No I think Aminu is gone and Collins will start at center. They’ll find a four elsewhere. If they can dump Harkless or Meyers they’d really open up their options. But I think they can find a solid player even if they were stuck with the tax MLE.

I see what you are saying, but just don't think it will happen that way--unless they decide to pull the trigger on Griffin or Love, then definitely it would break that way.

I wonder if the Kings would do a swap of Moe and a pick for Bjelica. They have Bagley and Giles and might chase Horford or someone like Vucevic.

I'd love that. I'd have to think Bjelica would have higher value than that. But who knows?

Not familiar with him. Is he any better than Skal? Very anxious to see Skal play in summer league. I like his size, shot blocking, and 3 point shooting.
I have no idea if he can cover the perimeter, but can Bjelica? Or any of the other stretch 4's we often mention. (i.e Love)

Skal has a lot of potential but yeah Bjelica is better right now. Most of my exposure to him has been with his international team where he handles the ball more. From what I’ve seen in the nba, he’s been kind of minimized to the prototypical stretch four. But he’s very skilled and also underrated defensively. Not sure what his value is in a trade, or if the kings would even be open, it was just a thought.

So the Kings should be open to it.
I just wouldn’t attach anything more than a 2nd or Trent form him (on top of Hark or Meyers). He isn’t worth losing a first round pick for.

Especially when he is a career 7.1 PPG /4.4 RPG / 1.5 APG / .4 BPG / .6 SPG 0n .460/.381/.755 shooting

Good shooting big, similar to Ilyasova imo.

Well he certainly has a nice stroke. But can he guard the perimeter. Still can't tell by this

Lets hope that a lot of good free Agents take a 1 year deal so we can go after them next summer

I dont like Olshey because of what he did in 2016, but credit where credit is due, in 2019 he did a really good job, trading Hood for two garbage players and two second rounders, getting Kanter in the buyout Market, drafting Little, and now trading the biggest garbage player on our team wothout any assets for a Upgrade. I cant belive i'm writing this but i will trust him and his plan, whatever it is

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat????????????????????

Is this like when you said you'd never doubt Dame again and then doubted him the next game?

We are going to need to find a couple of power forwards or a power forward and a center anyway. We can give small minutes to Skal but I doubt he plays more than 15 minutes per game. Collins should be a starting center/power forward really, getting significant minutes. I don’t trust Meyers to be playing more than 20 a night, and realistically Nurkic is probably not back until December and possibly not in good form for full season.

I would like us to use MLE on a big.
