Nurkic
Collins
Aminu
Swanigan
Leonard

Nurkic is strictly a center. Aminu is more of a small forward playing power forward. Swanigan can not be left on the perimeter. Leonard can not be left on the court.

I didn’t forget Moe. He just graded out so bad at PF that he shouldn’t even be considered.

The season hasn’t even started, yet I already see issues in the front court. We need to add another big, but the roster is full. Our only options are two way guys, and/ or dumping someone like Layman or Stauskas and taking the hit.

There are available players that could help, but I don’t sense any urgency. Olshey probably thinks Biggie is going to carve out a rotational spot. And that’d be ok if he didn’t also spend the majority of the offseason talking about making the next step in the playoffs.

But to keep this from becoming another anti Olshey post, would you cut a Stauskas to bring in another big? What would the hit be financially to a move like that? What available bigs interest you?

This is why a trade still needs to happen either to balance the roster a little better or to open up a roster spot to sign another big.

Cut Stauskas?!? We just had a news conference introducing the guy and you're talking about cutting him. Get real. The front court rotation is going to be Nurk, Chief and Zack. Biggie and Meyers will get spot minutes but I expect Collins' minutes to go way up to make up for losing Ed.

Yeah but who are you trading? And who are you targeting?

The stats show that Hark at the 4 can work for 5-8 minutes a game if played alongside the right personnel (ie not Evan Turner).

Kevon Looney would be a nice get and GSW needs shooting.

Yep, and I do believe there will be one. I'll be sacrilegious and state even Dame is tradable for the right pkg.

I love any of the Sacramento trade ideas:

Turner and a 1st for Koufos and a 2nd.

Turner and a 1st for Z-Bo/Shumpert/Koufos and WCS/Skal

Leonard and a 1st for WCS/Skal

They have 16 guaranteed contracts. We could maybe get Skal for a second. Then dump Layman and take the hit.

True, I normally don't like to trade just to make a trade but an exchange of crappy contracts would be fine with me.
I think both of those players could be ok in different situations too. Meyers in particular that guy has needed a change of scenery for a while...

And that gives us Portland fans something else to bitch about when he actually plays decent on another team.
Lol fair enough, but I think between the fans and Stotts he’s in a permanent brain cramp here. Like to the point I feel bad for him at times. I have never in my life seen a guy brain lock that hard every time he gets the ball, or whenever he’s on defense... I honestly would not be upset if he went somewhere else and played well because I think that ship has sailed here.

Personally, I still like the Turner for Tristan Thompson trade too.

Cleveland is short on bigs as well so I don't see them adding another wing to lose a big. They are also trading for Sam Dekker.

Stotts doesn’t want to play Meyers. Like at all. I don’t think he’ll play more next season. They’ll give more mins to Collins or go smaller. Unfortunately Meyers stock will never go up. Just have to wait the contract out.

I suspect the Blazers are planning to include Meyers in their game plan. At least, to start the season. The question I'm anxious to find out is how they are going to use him. Outside screener and three point specialist, as they have in the past? Or backup center, occasionally pulling his defender out to cover his mid range game? One thing many of us may have forgotten about Meyers, he used to be able to shoot and score with ease from just about anywhere. Then Stotts happened.
