Portland's Problem 6-8 Against Eastern Teams

As of today the Blazers are 20-13. They are 6-8 against the Eastern Conference.

Why are we only 6-8 against the East?

Their bad team are much worse than the bad teams in the west yet we lose to them so much more. Is it the time difference when we play out east.

This anomaly of a record vs the East is the reason why the Blazers aren't the 2 or 3 seed.

It's been an issue with this franchise a lot. I don't know if the current team starts believing they can just turn it on whenever they need to, or what. I know that other teams lose to bad teams (and other examples I'm sure will get mentioned), but even down all the players they have been, this was a pretty telling game.

Until they start taking ALL of their opponents seriously, they'll never advance past the 1st and out mentality.

But last night it was Roy/Aldridge missing FTs; Blake taking too many shots and missing(4-10); Bayless missing all his FGs(0-7); Webster a tiny bit (2-7)

Those were the only things that were not above average imo.

I think the losses to the Eastern Conference are more of an anomaly than any kind of trend (so far). Last night just looked like a team that is emotionally spent to me, hopefully they bounce back and can bring more energy and effort tomorrow night.

Not to mention that we allowed the 76er's to get too many points in the paint. But then again thats the Blazers issue with all their opponents this year.

Yes and this will continue to be our problem this year. Unless we bring a respectable bigman there are going to be nights like this where our oppenent abuses us down low. If we went into the season with Howard as our starter and Pedergraph as out backup C what would our expectations have been? I love how well the team is playing and pulling together with our injuries, but a severe lack of big men is going to make this a very average year. I hate being negative, but getting our players back (RF,TO,NB) does not help our problem at all. WE will make the playoffs, but I don't see us advancing unless we shore up the front line.
