Trump campaigned on this country is in ruins, a disaster, a third world country.
Now he is saying stock market up, border crossing down, crime down, Israel and Hezbollah signed cease fire. Nothing to do with actual policies of actual president, Biden. No, it's all due to him. He makes America great before taking office.
But still insists huge tariffs won't raise prices. He has all the self assurance of stupidity, no matter how many times tariffs are explained he still thinks they are somehow paid by exporting country to US. When prices skyrocket it will be Biden inflation.
 
So many spare parts for machines are made in Canada and Mexico and Taiwan.....get ready for auto repairs to skyrocket! Also anything that has a microchip in it will probably double in price if not more.

why would anything with a microchip double?
all products basically have a microchip these days, the microchip is not a very expensive part for a lot of products.
On some products they are, but the most advanced chips arent made in china. they are made in Taiwan and the US.

I was under the impression that tariffs would be on finished goods rather than parts. As I've mentioned before, my employer is planning on opening a sub-assembly facility in the US to avoid tariffs. Have components manufactured overseas and then shipped to the US for assembly.

First I've heard of that....I know we manufacture chips and Taiwan is building a plant in Arizona and one in Ohio but they are not up and running last I read and we don't have engineers that can produce them yet. We and most of the world are a generation behind Taiwan in the semi conductor field...thanks to Nancy Pelosi we've established prioritized trade partnership with them in the semi conductor field and thanks to Biden we're going to manufacture stateside with their help. My understanding is that everything imported under Trump will have a 25% tax...that's not going to entice Taiwan, Mexico or Canada to prioritize an American partnership for international trade let alone a place like Afghanistan, the Congo or Chile that produces silicone for the computer industry. If I remember correctly COVID killed off the auto industries manufacturing due to the inability to import chips required for modern vehicles for a few years. My mechanic was complaining about it back then.

Everything I've heard until your post was that tariffs applied to anything, including parts being imported/exported to be used in construction of something bigger. I naturally figured computer chips from China would be subject to tariffs.
 
Going all out on Hegseth. Telling senators they will pay heavy price if they don't fall in line. Feeling is Hegseth is bellwether, if he is not approved Gabbard, Kennedy, McMahon, Patel could also fail. But if senators can be frightened into backing Christian nationalist misogynist drunk incompetent rapist then they can swallow anything.

I agree, the CHIPS ACT was 1 of the very few things Biden did that I agree with.

but the post said prices will double or more on all things that use a microchip. This absolutely is not true since for most devices the microchip does not drive the price.
rememebr all things basically have a microchip in them, dishwashers/refrideratuers/ovens/etc these will not double do to chip prices.

The CHIPS ACT was basically a tax break for very large companies, I am surprised anybody on this board would support it since most people on here want to increase large company tax rates, not give them a lower rate.

Full power of US government used against civil rights, voting rights and diversity equity inclusion (they don't know what it is, like critical race theory, but they are against it). Overturn all Biden era civil rights policies, especially for trans people. Because trans people are the reason eggs cost too much.

The net result of all policies, those mentioned and those we have not thought of, will be a huge shift of wealth upwards. Poor people will become more desperately poor as inadequate social safety net is shredded. Working class, middle class, even relatively better off people will take big hits to living standards with higher prices, fewer and worse services, higher taxes, loss of rights. And an unprecedented transfer of vast quantities of national wealth, not to top 1%, but to top 0.1%. For them it will be like Monopoly money, they can't spend it, what can Elon Musk do with $400 billion he could not do with $100 billion? Just want to have it. Millions of people can suffer, economy collapse, planet destroyed, who cares? Wealth taken out of national economy.
Musk spent $250 million to elect Trump. He wants return on investment. And it's not lowering price of eggs.

Your last statement is true for all big time spenders on politics.
They all donate so their candidate wins, so they can get a return on investment.
And it ain't by lowering the price of eggs.

George Saros has been doing this for years, it is to push their ideology, not lower the price of eggs.

Actually, no, they aren't.

Tax breaks mean you aren't accountable for that amount or percentage at the very start. Tax credits is a reduction against your taxable income if you do a certain thing or fall into a certain category.

And you can get both.
