The only big that could get healthy soon is Gasol right? Even then having an old big coming off foot surgery as the answer is pretty questionable.

It's mind boggling that Brown is not up with the team right now.

Brown can only spend 45 days with the active roster as a TWP. Maybe they are trying to determine whether there is really a need for him right now, don't want to waste those 45 days.

Yeah, I know the rules but I find it hard to believe there will be a better time than right now.

Kinda pointless to bring brown up when he wouldn’t play. Like, whose minutes is Stotts cutting? We already have one big that doesn’t play enough.

I've really grown to like Baze. His energy and defense will be even more impactful to close the season and in the playoffs, I feel. Don't just wanna throw him in a deal unless it's for a bonafide starter (even after Collins returns).

He needs to pick it up on offense a bit

What if Whiteside or Skal gets hurt? I'd rather have Brown playing C instead of Tolliver.

But you're right, Stotts would probably play Simons at C before Brown. I think we're just talking about what should happen.

Meanwhile, Tolliver is shooting 26.3 percent in 7 games. That's not his 3-point percentage, that's his overall percentage. His 3-point percentage is 26.7 %.

The players that are scoring well so far are Lillard, Hood, Whiteside, Simons, and Labissiere. Labissiere is young and should be able to play a lot of minutes so I don't know why Tolliver is starting.
And why do we need to wait for CJ McCollum to wake up if Simons is already hitting his shots (Simons effective field goal % is 64% and CJ's is 45%). , and could be the better shooting guard now and (on average) forever?

Tolliver is starting because

A.) Stotts likes to start vets

B.) There would ne nothing left for the bench

If another big gets hurt I’m sure they’ll call up brown or go external.

I'm all in on Skal right now. Just the improvement in screen awareness and defense in 7 games is pretty remarkable. There is no excuse for only playing him 15 minutes last game. I think we win last night and last Saturday if he stays in the game during crunch time. We had the lead when he subbed out in the 4th quarter both games.

There was a play last night where he turned to his teammates and was trying to encourage them to pick it up. I love to see stuff like that. Give him minutes.

Skal would be such a good fit next to Whiteside. He’s got a game made for today’s nba, I wish we’d not only give him minutes but actually run plays for him. Is he the defender Zach is? Fuck no. But offensively, he’s better imo.

He's been elite in the pick and roll the last couple games. When his man doesn't hedge the pick Dame has gotten WIDE open looks for 3. If his man traps Dame he's an easy outlet for Dame to pass to. I actually wish he'd be a little more aggressive on offense looking for his shot but he's a willing passer to shooters so I can't really get too down on him for being unselfish.

I'm not trying to use this to bash Stotts again but if Skal played with Whiteside like you suggested then Skal could be the guy screening for Dame leaving Whiteside to just stay around the basket where he is most effective. When Skal slips the pick and receives those passes around the free throw line he'd have either a straight path down the paint or Whiteside's man would have to help and he could lob or dump it to Whiteside for an easy dunk. If teams start to help off the wings in the corners then he can just kick it out to the shooters and our two biggest players would be in rebounding position on a 3 point shot. I know it's kind of crazy to trust Skal that much but I think he's ready for it and in about 20 games would be a monster.

By the way, this is what the Clippers often did with Griffin and Jordan. Put CJ in the Reddick role and Hood on the opposite side in the corner.

See, shit like this right here is why I come back to this site again and again.

If i'm typing i can get it right. But talk-n-text will always print it as "Simmons". So i think apple is messing with you!
Maybe the solution would be to say Simon without the s then people would know you weren't typing it. I feel like reading Simon instead of Simmons is less confusing too, especially when we play the 76ers.

Yep that does work. When you told me to go Simon like "Simple Simon" it did work.

Because we have to wait for CJ to wake up before any team will trade for him?

Here are guys who are still available; I guess i would try to find one who had been working hard to keep himself in shape, and has a motor:
Centers

Power Forwards

yuck, none of these guys would be an upgrade. would rather look for two way targets in the G league

wait. Thon maker? Wasn't he full of potential? What happened to him? Injuries? If not, maybe he can be revitalized?

i thought i recall many on here high on him? Wanted us to draft him?

@illmatic99

i thought you used to be high on Thon. Was that you or someone else maybe?

also. Isnt he the one who turned into the karate kid during a game he was playing for his own country in?

i mean we need an enforcer do we not?

At least they would be in shape, but if I was GM I would check out a few of these guys also.

Just give me the last guy on that list, so we can someday hear Jordan Kent yell out "Kenny Wooten's gonna score!" during a Blazers broadcast.
