The positives for Harkless and Henderson are positives indeed! But I disagree about the still untried talents of Meyers. The Blazers need to put Meyers in to shoot at least 10 FGA and play more than 20 min to give him the chance that you outlined well in the EP2 analysis. In the Nets game, Meyers provided the best defense of Lopez, and could have held him down better in that declining 3rd quarter. Don't forget his emerging defense in holding Cousins to 2 of 12, his defense against Gasol, and several other good defensive hustle efforts. Meyers was needed in that 3rd quarter, as Mason was tiring and had too many fouls.
Let Meyers have the chance to shoot more, as I notice that the more he shoots, the hotter he gets. From the pick, Meyers needs to add a quick cut down the lane as you have noted. Adding this option can draw fouls, open more swish3s, and allow for unpredictability. The sustainability will be better with Meyers contributing. I predict that Meyers can be adding 18 points per game if given the chance to shoot.
In the Meyers versus Noah comparison on defense, although Noah seems quicker, I do not find him more effective than Meyers when he has his hands up high altering the trajectory of the shooter's shot. Both have great talent, but effectiveness is increased when we get the best of the 10 man team rotation. Rather than a luxury, Meyers can be the Blazer that allows continued success, given the chance.
