I'm worried about the heads of some of our compatriots here on S2 exploding if we were to do that.I still say we give Meyers a shot. Nurk does what Meyers does not do. So play them together.
But I agree we should do that at times, even if it Meyers coming off the bench. For this season...this is what we have to work with and hopefully develop. If they still suck in June, we definitely without a doubt need an upgrade, and pick one of them to keep as a backup.Noah Vonleh: PER = 8.3
Meyers Leonard: PER = 8.3
These are NOT the Power Forward of the Future, if your goal is to win.

There you go. Bell could be our future 4. And Brooks could be our future backup 2 (after we dump Crabbe's salary so we can afford to pay Nurkić).And in college with teams going small, a lot of 6'9 guys are centers as well. Look at Jordan Bell, he is 6'8" and a very effective center .....for college.
I say we start Vonleh next to Nurk the rest of the season and see what happens. They might develop some kind of chemistry, Noah might learn a thing or two, and he might start to gain the confidence that is necessary to be successful. We have nothing to lose and possibly something to gain.
Especially if it costs us some games? As much as I like the new energy and hope from the Nurk era, I would still like to see Vonleh start for the rest of the season--even if it costs some games. If he doesn't progress then you reevaluate over the summer.

You seem to not like Aminu at the 4.....I think he'll thrive next to Nurkic without the need to score when CJ or Dame are doubled because Nurkic can do that..with Plumlee, you would hold your breath when he tried to score in the paint. That's the point of this thread - the Power Forward of the Future. We NEED to upgrade this position, because our PFs of the present suck ass. There is less than two months left in the regular season, Trust me, they will still suck come mid-April. By then, Meyers will have had five seasons and Noah three, including significant time as a starter. Neither has shown any significant progress in that time, I don't think the next seven weeks is going to make a difference.

Posted this in the draft thread but it's useful here I think
need fo sheed! While I'm nervous to post this due to the ridicule I may receive, here it goes.
The NBA has changed, obviously, but look at the great teams. Most have a very good to great defender up front. Maybe we need to take a page out of the 90's and add the roght role player at PF. Buck was the missing piece for us back then because he played tough D and rebounded. We have shooters. It's all but impossible to find a great combo guy like Lebron or Green. We need to focus on, and only on a, defensive minded, get under your skin, don't come in my fucking lane, that screen you set on Dame was too hard, elbows up PF. I have no names, just a thought.

I really love his defense and he's unselfish but good around the rim...strong as an ox..after watching a few guys this season, to me he stood out.Jordan Bell would be interesting. Not sure he'll be 1st round guy though. Have to buy a 2nd
I'm still optimistic about Vonleh because I just think he lacks the maturity at his age to match up with the skills...I think he has skills and I think playing with a real center will help mold his game..Do we give Vonleh the honeymoon period most of you gave John Holmes?
