Blazers win 5 games

Blazers miraculously win the lottery

Blazers draft Wemby

During Training camp Wemby hurts knee

Wemby gets surgery

Wemby comes back to show flashes of greatness

Wemby gets hurt again and never plays more than 50 games for Blazers over 3 seasons

Wemby retires to become a dentist

Wemby comes back at age 26 and plays for Lakers

Wemby becomes an iron man that leads LA to multiple rings.

I couldn’t stop at season.

We should all chip in and send him a copy of Dance Dance Revolution when he's a Laker.

You forgot the part where he blames Portland for why he became an alcoholic.

Well, Formula 1 is starting this weekend and Alonso, for a change, seem like he read the tea-leaves correctly and jumped to a good team at the right time.

Ferrari seem to be slower in qualifying trim but faster in race trim. Red Bull look great, but my boy Alonso pipped them in FP2 in the Aston.

Alpine are confusing as hell, super happy with their performance but they have not shown anything yet.

So, overall, a very exciting season upon us, I hope.

I just hope the races do not come to me having to decide who I want to win more, Leclerc or Alonso.

Buyout players Goran Dragic, Nerlens Noel, and Juan Hernangomez sign with the Bucks, Mavs, and Lakers respectively. The Blazers miss out once again on improving the roster.

The Blazers miss the play -in by three games and end up with the 6th pick in the draft after the lottery. The Knicks make the playoffs and the Blazers get their 1st too. The Blazers swing and miss on a big deal draft night and end up drafting two forgettable players. They sign a new set of not good enough players. Repeat.

This part is obviously very possible. The rest of that would never happen. I mean who drafts a player with the #1 pick that might have knee problems? You are acting like this has happened multiple times or something?

I wonder if Vettel regrets already that he retired. Aston Martin looks extremely strong. But i still go with Red Bull and Verstappen. They are the Team to beat.

We only win 5 more games. We win the lotto and select Wemby. We send the Knicks pick to Chicago to fulfill the FRP obligation we have with them. We draft an upperclassmen PG to backup Dame. We trade Nurk, Ant and whatever future draft capital it takes to bring back Bam and take Duncan Robinson off of the Heats' books. We use the TPMLE on a backup big. We bring back Thybulle and Cam and Drewbanks but let Knox walk.

Dame, Rookie backup PG
Shae, Thybulle, Keon
JG, Cam, Nas
Wemby, T-Wat, Jabari
Bam, TPMLE, Drewbanks

I don’t think improving our roster this year is really a goal for the front office. I also think those guys impact on the roster would be incremental.

I agree about rbr, but I suspect vettel is fine. He seems to have lost the fire last year. I think he was ready for the next phase of his life. Wouldn't have minded seeing him next to Alonso, but we all know why that can't happen.

I always hear that chick giving betting tips on 1080. I usually pay no mind because it’s low level college bball over unders or NHL.

But I love her thinking along the lines of us getting a high pick

I'm not sure I could listen to hear talk for a long period of time, but she is pro Oregon sports.

Yeah I guess she went to UofO and was a sideline reporter for PIL and Portland State

Watford watch hit a speedbump in Atlanta.
Hawks were ripping balls away from him, and Trendon was lofting up passes to anything that moved. Followed up with typical flat footed defensive effort:

6 turnovers in 23m, 0 blk/stl

'Flat footed' is generous. I swear he got scored on every time his guy took a shot. No resistance. But hard to be critical of a 2nd yr undrafted guy. He's been put in a position where he won't succeed as our backup C.

That has been the issue for a while. So many players playing out of position. Outside of Dame and Nurk, who has been in their proper spot?

  • Ant - looked much better as the lead guard than playing off of Dame as an undersized SG
  • Hart - too small for a SF
  • Grant - doesn't rebound enough for a PF
  • Little - forced to play PF at times....yuck
  • Reddish - SF....finally, someone playing 'their spot'
  • Eubanks - too small to be a center even though I LOVE his heart and effort
  • Watford - too small to play center
  • Sharpe - shouldn't be playing SF

Just a recipe for abject failure....which was maybe the idea this year. The fact they didn't get ANY of the size that was available at the Trade Deadline tells me they didn't really want to compete for a Playoff spot.

Everything in this post is more than reasonable. Spot on.
And the final conclusion as well. The highest priority is fixing the roster for the best chance to contend with Dame. Increasing Ant’s value and the feasibility question with Dame. Seeing how good Sharpe can be. Who stays and who goes.

The Picks — five 2nds for the summer > Wiseman, now. Wiseman could or would have meant more wins, now, but that improvement (or patching the position) wasn’t the likely plan 1B.

Don’t have the draft capital to get a big deadline deal done? Plan 1B from the deadline likely got done with picks to free the future 1st round picks (thanks Olshey). We cannot rely on Dame single-handedly getting the team into the 1st round to convey it to Chicago. Getting picks for GP2 wasn’t the plan all along, but it’s a good pivot — hard-capping MLE spending to get 5 2nds? Good.

I see Cronin hitting singles and hit-and-run and a bunt moving runners along … all to swing away. He likely got one with Sharpe. This summer is huuuuge! It’s go for it … hit or … missing is not an option. (Though Nurk’s Trade-sized Contract looks less good than it did before, having it for matching dollars still matters.)
