That's a pretty big overpay for Powell, all of the analysts are saying that 20M py is what his value is so I thought we could win any bidding with 22.
It is but I think he will be coveted by a few teams and it will drive his market value up. I certainly hope im wrong.

Simmons average is 35 a year which is substantial for a number 2.

You're probably right because one of the teams interested is the Knicks and they can pretty much spend whatever they want on him under 30M and have another 30M+ for another FA. Just hoping that it's an overpay we don't have to go that far on. If we trade CJ like you have up there, then this becomes a much more attractive place to stay for Norm.

Superstar potential and Dame was just reported as saying after watching Giannis and playing with Bam he wants to play with an ultra athletic big.

To me the money is crazy, but the NBA is a machine and the owners wouldn’t pay it unless they saw a return..

Its like monopoly money forum freaks!
Its easy and o be aggressive when there is nothing to lose.

Dumpster dive is what he’ll do for the 9th consecutive summer.

He’s proven that he’s more than comfortable squeaking into the playoffs again.

I cannot see Dame fetching less than CJ.

That top 3 pick is worth more than the entire Dame package.

Would be fun to watch them grow and develop and would reinstall at least a little hope for the future. Also, they would win as many Playoff series as the current roster in 4 of the last 5 years...and as many Playoff wins as a couple of those seasons. Ugh.

Love Dame....but Neil waited too long. Perhaps, it is time to rebuild while you would get the most for what you have.

1. Buy a second round pick.

2. Trade DJ + 2022 1st for Thad Young.

3. S&T Powell. 4 yrs, 76 mil in a three way with Charlotte and Indiana with Turner going to Indy, us getting Hayward (weird math, but it can work if I'm looking at this correctly).

4. Sign Elfrid Payton for the TP MLE

5. Sign Ed Davis for the minimum.

Dame/ Payton
CJ/ Simons
Hayward / Nas
Roco / Young
Nurk / Davis

I'm not sure how Turner goes from Indy to Indy, but this does not work because of Powell's BYC rules. He will count for 11.6M outgoing and Hayward is 30M incoming.

Meant to say Turner to Hornets. Powell to Indy. Hayward to POR.

hmm, lemme keep playing on fanspo. perhaps you're right

Not all the rules are accounted for correctly on Fanspo. For one, I know BYC is not accounted for.

Also, I think Fanspo assumes all teams don't have to follow salary cap rules since the Hornets are under the cap. That's not true. The Hornets don't have to follow salary matching rules as long as they have enough space to absorb an imbalanced deal. However, the Blazers still have to because they are over the cap.

Rarely does a team facilitating a sign and trade get much of anything, they especially don't get an upgrade but if you can make the salaries work, I'd love for that to happen.

hmm, lemme keep playing on fanspo. perhaps you're right. it allowed me to do it last night when i put in a new contract for powell ~20 mil.
I like the layout of that site, but was playing around with it yesterday, and it definitely was allowing some illegal trades on there. I was able to have the Blazers take in like 30 million in salary just moving DJJ.
