While Kawhi cares for Toronto, they don't have much harm in his delay because they had no cap space anyways. It actually may give them a good feeling of being so close that Kawhi was torn.

Kawhi is regarded as the best player in the game. He won't be thought of as a role player to LeBron anymore.

If Kawhi doesn't sign with the Lakers, it really fucks their off-season. They now cannot sign free agents. It would be a total slap in LeBron and Magics face. It would show Magic couldn't close the pitch. It would drastically hurt a final year of LeBron prime, in an almost cruel way.
