Predictions and Expectations by the Deadline 2/19

Vince has never taken anyone to championship contention and he is not going to start now. He is what he is - a great productive offensive weapon that has a pretty decent all-around game - but sooner or later he is going to pout over something, get a hang-nail that will take him out of the line-up for extended minutes and revert to disinterest.

On a team like the Spurs as a replacement for Finley next to a great player like Duncan, with Parker and Manu ensuring that his minutes are limited to keep him grounded and interested - yes, he can be the championship difference. On a young team like Portland that already has 2 very good small-guards and needs to learn how to win playoffs games - he is not the missing ingredient.

Carter in the last five years has missed less games than Kobe or KG. He played injured through all of last year, and still produced 20-6-5, something only two other players in the NBA have -- Kobe and LeBron. To say he a hang nail will take him out of the lineup is ridiculous. There's no basis for that, except for an ankle injury that happened five years ago.

C'mon fellow Blazers fans, some of these trade proposals are just flat out recockulous. Pick it up or we run the risk of looking like some kind of Jazz fan or something.

#1- These trades are some of the worst i've ever seen

#2- "I'm going to go trade DeAndre Jordan for Dwight Howard now, since you know, he's on that second round contract and might become better than Dwight."

That shit is funny

#3- "Devin Harris, I'd take for sure.
Vince Carter... no way, unless we were getting Vince circa 2000. Sorry, I'd rather see Roy and the gang take the shots rather than see Vince jack up 20-plus shots a game to get 20 points, while playing no defense."

That's just plain wrong. Vince ranks 8th in the league in scoring. Out of the top 12 scoring leaders in the NBA, VC ranks dead LAST in shots attempted per game, excluding his buddy Devin Harris. Yeah that is DEAD.......LAST in shots attempted per game.

Fair enough. I still stand by my suggestion that the only place where Vince Carter is the difference between playoffs and championship is with a veteran team that lacks offensive punch and athletic ability - like SAS - and not like Portland.

I predict we're 32-21.

There will be many more dumb trade proposals.

There will be many more prediction threads.

If a trade does happen it will involve Travis & Raef.

edit - And I also predict DaRizzle will, for reasons known only to him, continue to feel the need to update the Blazer board on Bynum...

Some of you guys are delusional. Luckily, the some of you aren't and you're talking some sense into those who are.

Vince Carter is playing good defense this year, has missed very few games in the past few years and is playing EFFICIENT all-star basketball.

Devin Harris is going to remain a Net until his contract runs out. To say that the Nets would trade him for cap space kinda defeats the purpose since his contract is one of the biggest bargains in the league.

Jerryd Bayless would be extremely lucky to become better than Devin Harris.

I don't blame you, you don't watch the Nets, but don't go talking about stuff you don't know about.
