So pre-season comes to an end. They now have some game film to work with and 5 full days to work on things. They will make decisions on who will be in a Blazer uniform/Two way deals and who will be gone.
We pretty much watched what we all expected through the games played. We watched them lose two games to good teams and win against sub par teams. I just don't put much stock into playing two of the very worst teams in the western conference during pre-season to get good looks at what the team can do. GS played the Lakers twice and Houston played San Antonio, Indiana and Memphis a couple times. The Thunder played Detroit, Minny, Atlanta and Milwaukie. You get my point here. The Blazers did not come up against great talent in the pre-season. They will start the season on a three game home stand against the Lakers, San Antonio and Washington. The Wizards will be on their first road game and will be tough as usual looking at GS after Portland.
Not sure i am real comfortable going into this season. Huge holes are very easy to see in this team and i still don't see any replacement for Davis. Layman does indeed seem to be making strides and they will need him for sure. But Harkless is still out. Last night KC actually said Moe Harkless was still not comfortable playing on "HIS KNEE". I'm interested in this whole thing because we have been told it is in fact his ankle. If Moe is out because of his knee then you might as well expect him to miss large amounts of the season. We have all seen this before.
I learned very little I didn't already know from watching this pre-season. Pretty much hold the exact same position i had before any games were played. This is a 42-44 win team that will maybe make the playoffs if they don't come up against any major injuries. If they are an 8th seed they are looking at another sweep at the hands of the Warriors and we can all just expect another long summer next year.
