like I said, good thing the election isn't next week.
btw, as much as I'm disappointed in how Obama is, I almost can't wait for whoever the Republicans put out against him. Then we'll get all the stupid decisions, lies, hypocrisies, inconsistencies and "poor leading" skills that you guys will gloss over with positive links. And I really look forward to when you guys start denying that you're doing that, or try to spin that you're undecided.
An insensitive, uncaring asshole. That was way over the top.
I don't care who the republicans run, unless it's Ron Paul or Gary Johnson.
I won't be voting for any other republican, nor rooting for any of them. If those two aren't the nominee, I'll vote Libertarian or write in Johnson.
What I am rooting for is this loser of a philosophy to die, and the rise of Libertarian thought in government.
Ron Paul within a few points of the incumbent president in the polls IS progress of the highest order.
Wait, wait. I just want to make this clear. You are a guy who makes jokes about pedophiles and pedophilia, but this is way over the top for you?
Just out of curiosity, because I don't actually know, is there any examples of a Libertarian government in the world?
I don't think it's a big deal. Depends on the quality of the poll, and the audience it's geared towards. And the exposure that people have of Ron Paul. I think that's a big issue for things. It might be that the more he talks, the worse he sounds.
The US government in 1789.
Today, Switzerland is pretty close.
It's a CNN poll, no? They're supposed to be a responsible news organization.
It is a big deal because before progressives reminded people how bad their policies are for everyone, a Libertarian might have done 2 or 3% in this kind of poll
Because only Smokey Bear and Rick Perry can prevent forest fires. As for offending the great people of Texas, they have only theirselves to blame for electing and re-electing yet another babbling idiot for governor.
Damn, I thought that that was a communist who "...expressed his hatred for American society and acted in protest against it. Oswald's search for what he conceived to be the perfect society was doomed from the start. He sought for himself a place in history — a role as the "great man" who would be recognized as having been in advance of his times. His commitment to Marxism and communism appears to have been another important factor in his motivation" http://www.archives.gov/research/jfk/warren-commission-report/chapter-7.html#conclusionsThey killed Kennedy,
Oil in Vietnam? How far do your tin-foil theories stretch?they gave us 2 criminally anti-American Presidents, they brought us wars for oil in Vietnam and Iraq (twice) and they were a huge factor in destroying our economy. Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke.

isn't Switzerland the size of Vermont? Seems more like a small sample size then a good example, but an example none the less.
I don't consider polls from CNN, MSNBC, FOX etc, as being from responsible news organizations.
Not by any stretch of the imagination.
Get an imagination then.
Switzerland is a very free country. They were safe from even the Nazis. They don't have troops stationed all over the world. Their highest tax rate is 30% (that's combined state/federal/municipal). They have something close to a direct democracy. Strong civil liberties. Economic freedoms (free trade, few regulations). Their unemployment rate is 2.8%. They run govt. budget surpluses, rarely deficits.

Man, if I've ever needed another argument for how laughable libertarianism is when applied to the real world, you just made it.
"Let's run a 300 million person, 3.7m sq mile country the way a 7 million person, 15k sq mile country does it. It must be scalable! Heck, we did it 222 years ago, so we can do it again!"
Wait a minute. Switzerland has a universal mandate for health insurance. Hmm. Are you so sure it's a libertarian state?
When it comes to US history, I'm more interested in true fact than making shit up.
I do, it's because the "advisors" we sent in to shore up the South from getting overrun by the communist-backed forces of the North kept getting attacked. Your hero JFK didn't think it was about oil.How can you serve in the military and not know the primary reason why America's most infamous and most unpopular war was waged?
At the time it was waged, it was referred to by most anti-war protesters as The Standard Oil War.
And yeah, they've got a shitload of oil.

I take it you took history in Public School.
LOL
Read the Declaration of Independence some time. It's the quintessential Libertarian document. Regardless of whether it truly applied to all - it SHOULD.
Whoa....I took plenty of history in public school, and Maris' views don't match with mine (or mine with his, is fair to say)
How about we run 50 states, each the way Switzerland is run. We have many states with less than 7M people. That's how the country was designed to be run.
Australia is considered one of the more libertarian nations. If square milage is what floats your boat.
