Well that was a waste of my time.

As for HS requirements, it's been a couple of decades since I've checked them. Foreign languages weren't a requirement when I went. If it's changed, that makes me happy.

Where I went to HS, there weren't even any offered, much less required. And we had to walk to school in the snow, etc.

Aren't such requirements a state/local decision, though? Seems like language requirements could vary from place to place.

When I went to HS in the 80s, the requirements were just silly. Four years of English, three years of Social Studies, one year of Math, one year of Science and TWO YEARS OF PE! Like I said, I really do hope times have changed.

When I went to high school in California (in the '90s), there was a requirement of three years of foreign language, four years of math, four years of science, four years of social studies, four years of English...and two years of PE. ;)

You, on the other hand, looked at her tits, considered her fuckable, saw the American flag, jizzed in your pants, and then became this woman's biggest stalker.
Ah, so that's what got you so angry. You saw an attractive woman who wasn't a liberal, and it made you furious.

Actually ... [wait for it, because this is going to sound elitist] ... I didn't find that woman from the video attractive. 45-year-old women with feathered hair and saggy boobs don't do it for me.

Shooter, don't you realize that all those right of center are ignorant, bigoted, uneducated and full of hate?

Dagnabit, now I'm hating myself. Maybe b/c I'm educated. Can you be a self-bigot?

And what the heck is "center", nowadays.

And I can't speak intelligently about other states, but 50% of WA high school students didn't pass the English section of the WASL before they graduated. It could, I suppose, be b/c they're too busy learning other languages and becoming more cosmopolitan, but I doubt it.

I thk itz bc txt is da nu lang.

Is that why
the state’s graduation rate is approximately 70 percent, with wide variations across districts
TABLE 1: 2001 California Graduation Rate Calculated by Four Methods
Calif. Grad. Rate (%) Methodology
86.7 NCES Formula (dropout data)*1
68.9 CDE Basic Completion Ratio (enrollment data)2
67.0 Greene Method (enrollment data)3
68.9 Urban Institute CPI (enrollment data)4
*Calculated by California Department of Education for NCLB.;

If you get a chance, check out table II on page 5.

WA, to be fair, is at 62% by the same calculations. Best? NJ, at 87%

Hmm, is that why what? ;) Is the graduation rate surprisingly high or low based on what I said? Also, requirements probably vary across the state.

I originally meant to say that it might be due to the stringent requirements you posted that 3 out of 10 kids don't finish HS. Then I realized that CA is 32nd in grad %, even with the really poor showings in some of the minority demographics. And that WA was worse. I don't have an answer, other than the fact that most kids seem to be dumb nowadays, except for the homeschooled ones. :)

I have no idea what the Republicans are thinking. They owned California in the elections, then went on a crusade against hispanics and drove those largely catholic/religious folks out of the party. They attack gays and just about any other group that isn't lilly white. It's political suicide.

Republicans/Conservatives SHOULD look to their roots, party of Lincoln (freed the slaves, pro civil rights), voted for the civil rights bills of the 1960s in greater numbers than the Dems, etc.

Huh? When exactly did the Republicans "attack" hispanics and gays? Please show me some evidence of this. I follow politics quite closely, and I've never seen any sign of what you're talking about.

Are you sure you got a PHD?

We live in a bilingual country, sorry. There are about 45 million Hispanics in this country, which is a hell of a lot of people to sell shit to, it'd be bad business not to accommodate these folks in their preferred language, whether it be English or Spanish. USA Number (Press) 1!

Just as I thought, no one can provide any evidence of Republicans "attacking" gays and hispanics.

This is how the Leftist propaganda machine works. Spread a lie around, and repeat it enough times, and eventually people will believe it.

...and a Republican Gov..

Do you really consider Schwarznegger a Republican? He's more of a RINO to me. Also, didn't he oppose Prop 187?

And for the record, I don't think illegal immigration is a Democrat/Republican issue. I think it's more of a respect the law/don't respect the law kind of issue.
