Took a tour of Lake Merwin Campers Hideaway today. Nice campground and would recommend it to others, but not a good fit for us. The beach area was not very big and most of the fishing is done by boat. Most of the lots were small or had large elevation drops.

Anyone have places that they would recommend?

Thanks.

Ideally we would like to buy a lot that has an RV already on it or could have one put in permenantly. As said, Lake Merwin would have been ideal if it had a bigger beach, pier fishing, and walkable.

Drive an hour to Lost Lake in the Hood river valley. Tons of good places in central Oregon too. Why limit yourself to the metro area?

Maybe he's homeless and is looking for a place to park his shopping cart.

All the really good places are further than an hour away. Tell your kids to buck up.

Lost Lake is great. But last time I was there they dont take reservations (first come first serve) and their sites dont have water/electricity. Not a deal breaker for me, but if you have an RV or travel trailer it might be.
