This might be Ford's best execution of the "new edge" era (or whatever they called this design language).

My Alfa is a bit more orange than that, but still plenty yellow.

That's a cool damn car. Was all about GM muscle and nothing else growing up. Now I like all kinds. I think I see a car that needs a big turbo Supra motor in it.

I no longer have that IS300 - Loved it, but it was our backup family car and the kids outgrew the rear seat. It was even a rare manual. Replaced it with a giant GX470 SUV - which is actually surprisingly great off-road, but too big for the city. I am now thinking of selling it as a failed experiment - and replace it with something a bit more manageable around town. My daughter just got her license, she is fine with my wife's EV - but the GX is too big for her. So, I might just have to buy something like an AWD RAV4 or something like that. Alternatively, I keep the GX and buy a cheapo something for her to drive around town. It will just be hard to park.

Should look pretty close to this when done except not lowered. Need to order a chin spoiler. Not many options out there. My original is gone, had a black foam universal piece taped on. Didn't look too bad.

Thinking of ordering a repro 2003 or so cobra or mach lip. 60 bucks and may look decent. We'll see

I hate spoilers. They're useless unless you reach a high speed and they are difficult to keep clean.

My wife's car has a rear spoiler. I didn't want it but the salesman wanted to sell the car so bad that he offered us a price I couldn't refuse. Still, I wonder if it was worth it.

Just for looks. Without it the bumper looks funny with exposed mounting tabs

I should add that I hate them more than most people. Some of the trunk mounted ones are a nightmare to take off when working on the car.

Whoops. Lied again. Isn't gonna look anything like that yellow one. Changed my mind. Focus RS Stealth Gray20180826_153441_01.jpg

IMG_20180901_174557_01.jpg Didn't do any work on the car today. Just have to reassemble the doors and some other minor stuff. Didn't have time because I flew to San Diego to rescue another one. Driving 85mph with no hood in a car you bought without a test drive was awful fun. Thing cruised like a dream. IMG_20180901_174557_01.jpg

So what are you going to do with the new one?

A little car like that would look much better painted a bright and sporty color as the grey looks like primer. I would suggest a pearlescent yellow or a pearlescent orange tangelo pearl. Tangelo Pearl is what my boat was painted (along with about 18 other colors) and looks awesome in the sunlight.

to San Diego to rescue another one.

Cool!

I need something that will get about 50 miles to gallon. I don't really care if it doesn't look better than me.
Just need to run. Perhaps a old diesel of some sort? VW?
What you think?

I don't know. I would think an old Prius. A rabbit pickup diesel would be cool but maybe hard to find.

Yeah, her's is on the trunk.

Which reminds me, I've got a chance of buying a 2018 S60 AWD Volvo for nearly 36% off the original asking price. My wife and I are thinking about doing it. The major hiccup is that the body style is changing in December and they're going to keep that style for several years.

If seeing new ones makes you think yours is old don't do it. If not...go for it.

I've always had new ones and I've always had old ones. In other words, I keep my cars for a long time. I got half a million miles on my first two Volvos, both of which I bought new.

Now, we're ready to pay cash and expect to keep this next car for the rest of our driving days. Well, we might buy one more after this since we both feel younger than our 97 years of age.

Am I too old to chase co-eds or ogle show girls? Would you mind introducing me to your granddaughters?

Saw this one and thought of you - 18000 miles only, like new...
Shit. Missed this. A non svt has to be the 2.3 five speed for me to want it. There was a clean 100 thousand mile 2.3/5 speed wagon in vegas a few weeks ago. 4000 or I'd have bought it.

Current pics....fast hasn't been part of the equation as far as calendar days are concerned.20180923_112908.jpg 20180923_112855.jpg image000000_13.jpg Now I have to get started swapping the dash and roof pillar trim in the interior. No time to do it just yet

Did I mention my knee was on fire but I pressure washed the driveway, put up hooks for our bikes so I could park the orange one in the garage while I gather parts to redo it for the wife. And I swapped a Lexus suv led chmsl (brake light) into it this weekend. The orange one is saying "Mr. Mr....get me outta here"Screenshot_2018-11-18-13-02-24.png image000000_16.jpg

You know what they say, cheap fast and good isn't a good combo. Well, I just started my attempt.

Now, I must say that fast is being judged on hours worked not the calendar. Calendar time depends on my schedule.

Can't have my daily driver down for long periods and make wife drive me to work so I got a donor car that if I get the title I intend to donate to a veteran group like I did my white one. The white paint on my original door in the pic is just to prevent rust in between metalwork. Not finished.View attachment 21569 View attachment 21570
Taking off all my plastic parts such as bumpers on the SVT and swapping the light yellow parts on it so I can still drive. (May have to leave and return home at dark so neighborhood doesn't see it. Gonna be ugly for a while)
Helluva good thing. My hat's off to you.

Got tired of the plasti dip. Could have painted my wheels at work for free but felt like doing it yesterday. 50 bucks worth of VHT wheel paint....best it has looked so far. IMG_20181125_153329_01_01.jpg

Car 1600
Starter 130
Fuel pump 130
Plugs wires and misc sensors 150
Stereo 300
Parts car 300 after selling to coworker
Wheel paint 50
Paint job 300
Front spoiler 50
Svt emblem 20

3 grand all in for this car and no car payments. Last thing I need to do is find some nice stock seats or maybe some newer focus st/rs seats and modify them to fit.
