<div class="quote_poster">Quoting M Two One:</div><div class="quote_post">No problemo bro, but don't expect PS3 to be a good deal for quite some time. As we all know developers for consoles using new technology take a year or so to put out top quality games. usually the first year consists of learning what they can work with and expand. For instance everything released thus far on XBOX 360. The console is much more powerful than what they are currently releasing. Also, it's expected due to blu-ray chip technology that the console will be priced at $499 for the soft core. And the advanced with be $599. These are expcted to be the possible lowest prices for the console release. We also won't see a price drop for more than two or three years due to Sony's losses from making the price point as low as it is. Even though to us it's damn expensive. I'll still end up getting it, but it'll be a while as there's more important things in life to spend that type of money on, you know? Console gaming just got a little crapier.
As for PSP, just a fair warning that you will have to deal with megapixel bulb blow outs and send the PSP to the manufacturers once in a while. Otherwise you'll have little black dots all over the screen. It's free so that's the good portion I suppose. This can happen at any time though, even by barelly touching the screen. I am dead serious. If that doesn't bother you then go for it. You'll probably need it now that your PS2 is dead.
EDIT: Btw, what exactly is wrong with your PS2? I've fixed plenty in my time and I might be able to help you out.</div>
I don't know what's wrong with it, but everytime I load in a game, the PS2 menu shows up and the game starts running, but most games don't make it to the Starting Menu. Other games don't even load anymore. It was bought four years ago and was hard-modded right off the bat, so I was kind of expecting it to burn out one of these days. Seems like something with the DVD drive is wrong, but I don't want to spend some more money to get it fixed. The PSP purchase was planned for a while now and my PS2 burning out just makes it more of a need. I'm too much of a Sony fanboy anyways to care about the pricing of the PS3. Once I'm in university, expect me to blow that money on the PS3, but before that, light gaming is planned so I could get into the school I want lol.
As for dead pixels on the PSP, I do know they show up after some use. I've seen them before and they're barely noticeable. The pros of the PSP are just great stacked against the cons; especially if I get a F/W 1.5 for homebrew.
