I've never voted for a Democrat or Republican for president. I've always voted independent. I am opposed to the DNC / GOP and the two-party system as it stands.
I think two party is dumb as well, it pushes people into corners. Like, I lean right but I don’t agree with the social conservatives majority of the time. But because there is no real other party that can offer me better economics, freedom, and security... I’m stuck with the GOP.

I have never been a fan of either party and the reason I registered as an independent when I was of age, but would never vote for a 3rd party unless I felt they had a legit chance as otherwise it's a wasted vote. I choose the one I feel has the best chance and meets my ideas the most. trump will never get my vote.
I'll vote for who I want to win whether they have a chance to or not. Just like in sports I'll cheer for the Blazers to win whether they realistically have a shot or not. I'm not going to all of a sudden be a Bucks or Laker fan just because they are running away with the regular season.

I personally think those parties have done a great job of convincing people you don't vote for them and you're wasting your votes. No wonder independents never get anywhere.

Not even a valid comparison as we have seen any team at any time has a chance to pull out a victory. When was the last time any independent made it even a reasonable race?

Yes, most of us are forced to make compromises in selecting one of the two parties. When I can't not, I usually choose the Libertarian Candidate with full awareness this candidate has no chance. It is where I land when I just can't vote for a Rep or the Dem.
But I see no fault in this, it is best we make the choice when serious of the two major candidates. Sending several Presidential candidates forward for the Congress to sort out would be far worse.
Same with Congress, having a congress with no majority party would really suck with no fix in sight.

Its pretty obvious they both are so partisan with crazies on both sides it's turning people off. There a few dem candidates I would vote for, but if its EW or BS I'll more than likely line up with a 3rd party. Trump, EW & BS I will not support.

:cool2:
That makes you my ally. I will vote for Trump, and you don't vote for his opposition and I will be pleased.
I appreciate the help.

Don;t worry, I will be voting against trump to off set your vote and I have spoken to several people, some of who voted for trump that will not vote for him again.

A vote for a third party candidate is the same as a vote for Trump. If you voted for a third party candidate you can't complain about trump because you basically voted for him also.

I don't agree with that...I vote for who mostly lines up with my beliefs, i'm not a straight ticket guy one way or the other. Im absolutely in favor of a third or fourth party with an equal playing field.
I think Trump won because many independents and closet dem voted more against Hillary even though they gave trump their vote.
If there had been more viable options with 3-4 parties with equal treatment, Trump would not have won, but Hillary.

I suppose there might be an argument that his existing base might be more motivated to get out to vote in November. But those who want him out may also be more motivated to vote.

It's mostly an attempt to make it true by saying that it is true.

barfo
One of the reason I'd like to see a viable 3rd 4th party so those, I think it could harvest some of those no Clinton to Trump voters or whomever runs as the dem.

Sounds EXACTLY like the Clinton years to me.......the teams have just switched places....
That's not true.
During the "Clinton years" Democrats accepted Clinton's wrong doing, they just didn't believe it rose to the level of impeachment. Republicans, on the other hand, will not accept any of the evidence Democrats have presented in the Trump impeachment hearings.

I didnt vote for Trump and I can dislike Trump all I want. This argument is not a good one. Its a great way that the two parties try to bully independents. Honestly if my choice was R D or no one, Id take no one. Instead I get the option of R D or independent and I’ll vote independent, if you think oh Id have voted for Hillary you’re wrong, I would just not have voted at all.

You should consider a run for some office within your community, seriously.

The results of this whole thing were decided long, long before it began

Yes, and this is first time that we have reached this point in the history of our Nation.
Impeachment has never before been done completely by one party. Never before has the impeachment been the goal, for which only the High Crime needed be found.
Even with clear warning available that impeachment should not be done as a purely partisan effort, not one of the participant in the impeachment partly has look to left or the right to see they were all alone.

Never before has impeachment proceeded with not one, of the minority party in support. Heck, not even all of the Majority party is in support.

But then, never before has the country been so divided between the interests of the Urban centers and the rest of the Nation. Never before so divided in the importance of correct feeling verses pure logic.
Never before, has the numbers been so supportive of one sides ability to ignore the election system and impeach the President.

It took 30 plus states elect the President. The representatives of approximately 18 states will provide the majority to impeach the President.
It gets even worse when you look at it by counties. Trump won about 2626 counties in the nation, Clinton about 487. The President will be impeached by the representatives of about 25 Counties out of 3,141 counties total in the US.
Not one representative of more than 98% of the counties in the US will vote to impeach the President.

Since we are a Union of States organized as a Federal Republic, we have a flaw in the Constitution. We elect the President State by State via the Electoral College, but we allow the President to impeached by a simple one party pure majority.
The Nation can not stand with this error. An amendment is needed.

This is also the first time that we have had a POTUS who is as malignant as Trump...yet still the GOP props him up at all cost.

Election be damned...he is ill-suited for the job, and the ONLY reason he was elected is because he was the only candidate not named Hillary f'n Clinton...which sadly in itself is an indictment on our festered culture/society.

Oh Horseshit!

The fucking dems have lost all credibility. Hillary was and is horrible candidate and they the dems, have no one that is even remotely electable.
The nation is working the best it has in many years under the leadership of Trump and it will no doubt be recognize by a large majority of Americans in 2020. Join the American's and get onboard!

Like I've said...not many "independent" candidates to choose from.

yes I know. But it’s strange that there isn’t one. Because if there was one, and all the people who claim to be independent were really independent, he/she might have a chance. How can there be so many independents but not a single independent leader?

That is asinine reason nullify the votes of the American's that did in fact cast their vote for him. Respecting the winner is vital to being able to continue as a nation.

garbage post unsurprisingly. Respect the winner? How about he respect the nation and it’s citizens and it’s laws? Get the fuck outta here

never before have we had a complete fucking racist idiot with no regard for law in the office. Unfortunate that gun nuts are usually pro trump.

Yes. This is the basis of holding elections.

No. It isn’t. You don’t elect someone, let them fuck up the country and pay respect. It doesn’t work that way. Give respect, get respect. Have some pride in yourself and stop sucking on this clowns tit.

Yes, well this statement is indicative of you intellect. The second amendment was very high in the priority list of rights. You should be able to ascertain this from the number of the amendment.
Carry on.

Educate yourself son. The lack is glaring.

Nothing in here is less impressive than your “intellect”. I rarely see a post without grammatical errors. You use the wrong words. You blindly regurgitate nonsense that is proven to be incorrect. You associate with a man who is the dumbest president in history. That’s your guy. You are who you associate with. So please. Save your “intellect” bullshit for someone else.
