I don't understand how anyone can waiver one way or another. Who are these people? You either want him gone or not. I just don't see how the actual proceedings sway anyone.

Republicans essentially admitted in the senate they have already decided they will vote to acquit no matter what and many haven't even read the evidence.

Here's a picture of Obama shaking hands with the real whistleblower:

I can read a deep dislike. Look at Obama. As if; he is shaking a hoof from a jackass.

This has never been about getting Trump out of office. That never had the most remote chance of happening given Republican control of the Senate. As I said from the beginning, it’s pure political theater, with each side playing to their bases. As an Independent, it makes me want to cry, laugh and puke simultaneously.

Shameful post.

Bullshit!
If you are going to try and take down a duly elected President, then you ought to stand like a man an say your piece. Best be right too, and prepared for next.

As an independent I have felt like that for quite some time.

Were not Nixon and Clinton also both "duly elected"?

Yep.
And Nixon deserved to be impeached. Probably why he quit.
Clinton did some despicable shit but impeachment was way over the top and harmful to the nation.

But Trump has done nothing wrong?...please.

And evidently the country survived the Clinton fiasco.

Im not so sure we did, doesnt it seem like the partisan “impeachment” and all of the nonsense revolving around that as a key moment in the fracturing of the country. I should rephrase it, the country didnt crumble away and die, but what came next, Bush and Gore and that fiasco and its just been on a downhill slope since.

Because there are still Real Americans, intelligent enough to have read and understood the Constitution, and to know how adherence to it is essential to the survival of America as a free country of free citizens.

Your obvious willingness to remove a President by any means possible, lawful or unlawful, is the definition of treason.

Seriously, where do you come up with this BS?

Still waiting for coherent definition of what what you think a "real American" is.

And please, no copying and pasting.

But that had little if anything to do with Clinton. This country has been on a downhill slope well before then.

Doesn't appear those proceedings are faring as well as the dems might have expected/hoped at this point....

Sometimes, you gotta do things because they are right and not because they are popular.

These results are different than Gallup. Gallup has those supporting impeachment with a nearly 3% lead over those against impeachment.
I should also add that this is a case of right vs. wrong more than popularity.

So this isnt a story I should tell on myself but I was .5 credits short graduating HS and had to make it up my 1st year of college. I had good grades and was in AP classes but I had a major project I needed to do for a US history class that was a requirement to graduate and I basically made my report that a Real American is pretty confused.
They start a war against Britain because they wanted representation on imposed taxes that a majority of them werent paying. They had an amazingly written document (the Declaration of Independence) that states all people are equal and should be endowed with certain rights, but stripped those rights from Millions, through racism. The list goes on theres so many things throughout American history where as a country weve said one thing and done another, that the only way to define a True American in the sense of morality, emotions and the like (excluding where they happened to be born), that the only explanation seems to be describe a hypocrit. My teacher didnt like that report at all to say the least... My feelings have changed some since being 17, and Ive learned more, but I still think that the whole “Real American” thing is kind of nonsense.

I think this could actually be a really interesting conversation.

really though, I hear “I’m an independent” 10x - no 100x more than i hear “Democrat” or “Republican”. I think mostly because people think it’s a way to be neutral, or to stay clear of an argument, or maybe it’s embarrassing to be affiliated with either nowadays. I’m not sure. Then when an election comes around, there is no Independent candidate worth a hill of beans. If there are so many Independents- shouldn’t that party become something?

It would help if the "independents" actually had a viable candidate.

Most independents end up voting for Dems or Reps depending on the candidate’s. I think its a way to say they’ll decide later.
Whats interesting though is almost everyone I know is pretty hard one side or the other, so anecdotally this is interesting that your experience is much different than mine.
