Because the people who voted for Trump would have voted for him with just about any vice president running mate. Nobody likes Pence. If the R politicians vote to convict Trump they face the voters over it. The same reason the D's in swing states said they had to think about.

You know, I've never even thought about this explanation. It makes sense, though.
There's another reason. If Trump were convicted and Pence became President and Pence died before he could get a new VP through the Senate then Pelosi would become President. I'm gonna take a wild guess that Republicans wouldn't like that too much. Of course, then not all the lemons in the world could wipe that grin off my face.

I think we're all going to have to wait to find out what the results are from the next general election to know where things stand.

I think the only thing he fears is letting the Democrats regain the White House and control things from there on in.

I'm going to interpret that as Pelosi being Prez would make you imprevious to lemons...not Pence dying. That is just wrong. Who would ever think like that? Anyway.......if Lanny thinking my answer makes sense what does that make this?

That lemons aren't bad?
I love lemon coke, lemon meringue pie and cheese cake flavored with lemon juice. Also love lemonade. Oh, yeah, I squeeze a lot of lemon juice on all my seafood including oysters on the half shell.
Yeah, I know, I enjoy some foods way too much. Gonna have ham and greens with old fashioned cornbread for dinner. I'm just sorry we don't have any buttermilk.

Why would he and his people sit back and watch Trump go through an impeachment process?

Why would he or one of his people not be on the first flight over here to set the record straight?

Both sides are arguing about his original statement and others testifying to the contrary so throw those out.

Why not show up and clear up the back and forth if he's innocent?

Does it seem odd that they seemed to have washed their hands of the scandal?

Yeah, like I said in the other thread, If Trump wanted to investigate the Bidens he didn't need to solicit the Ukraine to do so...he has the resources right here in the US to do that.

And as far as both Trump and Zelensky claiming "there was no pressure", well no shit. What else were they gonna do, admit it?
