The whole memorial service was well-done and kudos to the Blazers for putting it on for the public and those close to Coach Luke. O-Live has all of the speeches in full form. IMO, Brickowski and David Lucas were must-listen to, and seeing Dr. Jack back in town here is always special.
Really sad I missed this. My dad was a HUGE Lucas fan and while I'm not old enough to remember the championship (though I was a toddler at the time) my dad would constantly talk about Luke. I hope my dad is watching Maurice throw elbows in heaven. RIP Luke.
I wasn't even alive when the Blazers won the title, but hearing everyone speak of Luke, it gave me a greater appreciation for the person and man he was on and off the court. My mom had season tix back in '77, and always raved about him when I was a kid, learning to be a fan. And I'm sure Luke will be throwing some elbows along the way to heaven.
Yeah, I always thought of Brickowski as that dirty player who got underneath everyone's skin in Seattle. But I guess he lives in the Portland area, and he was definitely one of the highlights for me yesterday. Great storyteller, and pretty good stuff.

He married a Portland gal (Putnam high school actually) and works with the Blazers as a security liason. Very cool guy. Used to bullshit with him a lot at Blazer games.
