Waiting on attendants does get old, but the thing that pisses me off even more is when they don't screw my gas cap on all the way or close my fuel door so it latches.. I've lived out of state and don't mind pumping my own gas.

I would think so. Most of the ones I have seen in Eastern Oregon where you can pump your own gas are 24 Hr.

I like having my gas pumped for me. I also don't trust the general public with a gas hose.
You will still be able to have someone pump it for you. Plus the general public in 48 states can figure it out, hopefully those in Oregon can too.

My little small town gas station never has lines if you know what time of day to fill up and the guy who fills my tank is a local guy who was homeless for years in town here and finally pulled it together to sober up and get a job...I'm glad he's pumping my gas. I've pumped plenty of gas in my days.

...all pumps at out FM reach across to far side if needed so lanes don't matter :dunno:
Same at the OC Fred Meyer. Once going through a station like that you wonder why they aren't all that way. So much more efficient...

Yeah... Guess it's not a good idea to leave your keys in the car...
As close as she was to the car, even if she had the engine off, that guy could have restarted the car easily if it had a push button start (and the fob was on her/in her purse). One of the downsides to "progress". And I assume she was smart enough to have the engine off while refueling........

But don't cars with the fob turn off when they get too far from the fob?

I know mine does.

They do, but she was standing (almost touching) the car. Again, I'm assuming she shut off the engine while refueling, so I'm just making an educated guess. Makes me wanna go out and test mine now to see how far away one has to be before it starts....

But even then, he wouldn't drive very far... The car would die a block or so away.

In fact, mine would start beeping and making a bunch of noise as soon as the door closed.

It would be nice but I hope it doesn’t impact jobs too much.

It’s nice for the reasons mentioned already.

The attendants at the gas station I frequent are homies and I hope it doesn’t impact them!

It seems to me a pretty good compromise. Of all the things that I'd like to be able to vote on directly, this is low on the list.

Love having other people pump my gas. No need for me to get out in the rain if I don’t have to. Just drove to SF and returned up 101. Pulled into Gold Beach about 9pm and the gas station was closed. Sign said,”SELF SERVE 8PM-8AM”
So that’s what I did. I see nothing gained by us doing it ourselves honestly.
