As Biden finally took office, however, the mood changed quickly on QAnon forums. QAnon channels on messaging app Telegram filled with gifs of far-right mascot Pepe the Frog crying, as believers claimed they had been duped. Believers said they felt sick, or wanted to throw up.

“Trump fooled us,” complained one Telegram commenter.

“All my family and co-workers think I’m crazy,” wrote another.

“I feel stupid,” wrote a third.

Even major QAnon boosters saw their faith in the bizarre conspiracy theory shaken on Monday. QAnon booster Roy Davis co-authored a bestselling book promoting QAnon under the alias “Captain Roy,” even getting his sports car painted with a giant, blazing “Q” on the hood.

As Biden was sworn in, Davis initially told The Daily Beast he didn’t want to comment until he was sure Biden was really president. But as Biden’s new title became official , Davis said he was ready to move on from Q — something his doctor has long urged him to do anyway.

“We misinterpreted it,” Davis said. “Maybe we should have done something different.”

That's funny and all but I feel it's mostly just justice porn. People rarely have this type of moment of enlightenment, instead they find ways to double down on their own stupidity.

Of course it’s in jest. I have always enjoyed it when Mags shows up, no matter how off the wall and crazy he gets. He’s entertaining in a way Trump never, ever came close to.....for me, Mags is a stark reminder that there is a whole different America out there we need to be keeping an eye on.......if nothing else he’s a weathervane.....
 
Hilariously, Q supporters held watch parties yesterday, expecting Trump to swoop in at the head of an army that would depose and execute Democrats and install Trump as god emperor for life. They got off describing the anticipated decapitation and rape of Democratic politicians. Now they are stunned, wondering what went wrong.

Except the ones still saying this is part of Trump's brilliant plan.
Like the people who confidently predicted the world would end on a given date, and when it didn't, were unfazed, because it's going to happen .... someday...

Very true. I heard there are some Q members that are floating a "face off" theory that Trump and Biden switched faces and Biden is actually Trump. Really.

A (very slightly) less insane version of that theory is that Trump and his confederates actually did arrest Biden, Harris, their proposed cabinet members and a bunch of Democrats congresspeople late Tuesday night, put them all in a tribunal, confronted them with the vast evidence of their crimes and they were all found guilty---BUT they realized that the American people aren't ready for the truth and civil war might break out if these people were all executed, so a deal was made: the guilty would be allowed to pretend to continue their lives and jobs as normal, but they'd all take their marching orders from Trump. So Trump continues to rule America as Shadow President.

ABM isn't sure whether to believe this, but he's at least intrigued because all theories have at least a little truth to them. Anyway, he's just asking questions!

The latest claims being made by QAnon supporters echo those of the sovereign citizen movement, a group of people who believe they are not governed by the same laws as everyone else.

That belief has led to violent confrontations with law enforcement have viewed them among the top domestic extremist threats facing the country.

“There was some crossover between QAnon and the sovereign citizen movement before, but I've seen sovereign citizen ideas about the United States being a ‘corporation’ become more popular within QAnon and beyond in January,” Travis View, a conspiracy theory researcher, told VICE News.
