I can't listen via the internet, did Quick really report that Sergio was going to start against Devin Harris?

Well hopefully HCP is there with a life preserver to throw him!:devilwink:

Sink or swim time for Sergio if that is the case.

Sergio is going to have a helluva time ... so will Bayless so I'm not sure if it's really going to matter one way or another, the best bet is to be able to trade scores and I have a feeling Harris is going to give Sergio fits with his defensive abilities.

I hate to be all doom and gloom, but tonight could get really ugly.

Absolutely. Tonight is the night all of the Sergio haters either get vindicated or shut up. And don't think he doesn't know it, either.

I for one think he'll be on the bench after about 8 minutes of the first quarter when our boys are down 16.

against Devin Harris? Harris is good enough to make just about any point guard in the NBA look bad; I don't know that I would use tonight as the yardstick to measure his success or failure ... but hey, more power to him if he shows up.

And Oden after he picks up early fouls because there is no way in hell Sergio can stay in front of Harris

Yea what the funny thing is, IMO there will be no drop off. Blake is easily as bad defensivly as Sergio. Neither one of them could fight through a screen if their life depended on it. One can shoot. One can pass. It kind of reminds me of the old Vince Carter saying. Half Man, Half the time. Except with these guys, its more like Half an offensive game, half the time.

Nate McMillian boggles the human find and defies common sense at times

I have no idea how you can say that Blake is easily as bad defensivly as Sergio, no way. Blake puts out on defense, he puts in the effort and most of the time at least knows where to go. I can't say that for Sergio.

And why is everything so black and white? You say one can shoot, and the other can pass... So you're basically saying Blake can't pass... Whatever. There has been a clear drop off this year between Blake and his two backups, so unless they step it up bigtime, Blake will be missed.

Don't people remember that Blake was out in preseason and Sergio started? And did fine?

Bayless IS NOT A POINT GUARD. Maybe he will be one day. But not yet.

Prediction: Harris owns Sergio in 5 minutes and Sergio ends up playing 15 minutes for the game.

Preseason? Really? That's your argument? I'm pulling for Sergio, but he needs to step it up -- now.

I can easily say that. Take the time to watch what happens with both Blake and Sergio on picks, and what happens when they lay our big men out to dry, and you will figure it out. Both of them either:

1. Get taken out like a VW bug running into a freight train.

2. Cheat to go behind, get switched on, and leave our big man out on the perimeter to get totally hosed by a smaller, faster player.

Effort is something that losers talk about. "We made a good effort but just came up short". I swear if I have to listen to Jason Quick, Mike Barrett and Mike Rice suck Steve Blakes dick any more, I am going to barf.

Yeah, what do they know. Let's all listen to hasoos, because he's the only one who takes the time to watch what really happens.

No flipping way Blake is as bad defensively as Sergio.

In the first Chicago game Nate put LaMarcus and a guard on Rose to trap him on the perimeter and they did something similar against Stuckey (Bayless did a great job that game of funneling him into help defense).

Harris is a fucking handful whomever guards him and I don't think you can stop him, so much as slow him down some.

Is going to be like the Sergio thing . . . everyone is calling for Nate to play more Bayless (like the board was doing for Sergio 2 years ago). Next year Bayless will play more and everyone will be calling for Nate to bench Bayless (at the PG spot ) and play some other rookie.

Stephen Curry baby!

Just kidding ... no I'm not (OK, I am ... or not).

He's much more of a perimeter player than I remember from year's past, but he's still a stud and will be a handful.

MB and Rice are paid by the team. Quick can judge talent just about as well as Katy Brown... :biglaugh:

Seriously, how can you trust a guy who championed Damon Stoudamire for three years?

I don't take any of their words as gospel, far far from it, but I get a kick out of anonymous internet message board posters who think they know more than any of them as they spout off about Blake being as poor defensively as Sergio. I just think it's funny.
