So far what this come down to is Carolina is just a more talented mature team. The Rangers simply cannot handle their constant pressure and harassment. We are not strong enough on the puck, and not nearly decisive enough with the puck. We have zero space and time to get anything done, and we cannot make plays. Big picture this will be a good learning experience for a lot of our younger players I think. It has been a lesson on what playoff hockey is all about. A whole other level.

The refs have been a joke, but they have been a joke both ways. They are just a better team, and have paid it off, terrible refs or not.
At what point do these refs realize that this is supposed to be playoff hockey and NOT exhibition hockey and start calling it like that? First REAL NHL game in months and we get treated to the refs making up for lost tv time. Unfucking real
I said the refs were terrible for both teams after period one. This period has continued that trend. Making this shit unwatchable. Good job refs.
It’s a MAJOR problem when there have been more minutes played with a man up/down then 5v5. This isn’t what hockey fans want to watch. PP after PP after PP is boring hockey.

Key word is SOME. But realistically if this is supposed to be a playoff type game, then the refs need to swallow the whistle a bit. I am about to just turnoff the game as it is really unwatchable at this point, and not just because of how poorly we are playing. I’m honestly happy hockey is back period. But these refs are atrocious. And if this was a call made by the NHL to call the games this tight then that’s even worse. At this point with almost no sports on right now the NHL should be trying to show off to a casual fan and get them interested. Imagine being a casual fan and this is what you tuned into see. I know I wouldn’t stick around to watch it.

What is frustrating me is the Rangers lack of decisiveness with the puck. The Canes are on them immediately be it on the PK or at even strength. There is no time to stop and think and analyze things. You have to get the puck and immediately keep it moving. You do that and you will get chances. Unless the Rangers get that into their heads they will continue to struggle and be outclassed.
Now yes it is much easier said than done, but they aren't even close to making the quick decisions needed to have a shot to get good chances, possess the puck, and score some goals. That should be the whole discussion between periods.

Joe and Sam just said day-to-day and should be ready for Monday if needed. Who knows for sure, but it isn't crazy to think they wanted to go with Hank in game 1, so they said minor injury for Shes, just to take the pressure off and limit the second guessing. It is possible.
With that said, this is not Hank's fault. Maybe they would be playing better with Shes in goal, but so far they are simply not quick enough on the puck. But again only down one goal, so still clearly have a shot despite the poor play. Need to kill the remainder of the penalty to start the 3rd to have a shot though.

PP sucks moose dick. Yeah, rookies are playing like rookies for the most part. Kakko who is starting to look like a completely different player. Gauthier is playing well. Fox is struggling. Howden sucks ass. The vets are making dumbass play after dumbass play.
